Interface Art...need help
I have just started working on a new Interface Art for Wing Commander Saga, when I realized that I haven't a clue how to do it.

Well...lets see what I have allready done

If the Pic isn't there

My question is, how is it done that I got the buttons to work and can I deside where the Pilots name and so on should be placed with some other text maybe.

For the look....its WIP and will be different in the end...also with textures. The outer border is the same as the Screen...so its no longer the small Menu from FS2.

PS: Can someone host that small pic for me, because I have only such a d*** f***ing Tripod upload.

You can only change the text and the button position in the fs2 source you need a costum fs2.exe.

And here is your pic i have host it.

You're gonna do that style of interface for the whole lot! Good Luck! (seriously, twill be an incredibly masdsive job, but majore kudos if you pull it off - that's a damned fine pic.

On your question, it apparently has to do with the monochromes, however, I've never played with them, so I'm not 100% - Ask in the TBP forum hoew they changed the mainhall.

Lars, this has nothing to do with the interface, but I thought you shoud know...

While your modes look great they were "poorly" made. I had a hell of a time fixing the Cobra, and I don't think I can fix the Lancer...just too many intersecting polys...
I'll either give it to someoe else to try, or try and make the whole model from scratch....
Some of your 3D Max models are a bunch of objects, not unioned together and I have to fix that too. Your shivan destroyer kees chrashing 3D Max whenever I try to union it's arms with the hull.

So try to avoid intersecting polys, try to keep yous ships relativly low-poly, and try to make the hull a single object and you'll do fine!:D

The mainhall button change is very easy a can do that for WC saga but the position of all other buttons in the interfcae is very hard work you must it do in the fs2 source code.

The WC Saga Mainhall has allready been changed so I don't think thats a problem, but can't the others screens be changed the same way?

Very nice I think its made with Photoshop or something like that, right? Well I am not very good at painting so my one is a 3D model that will/can be used for something else I am working on.
If I find a way to use this one I will post it here.

Well they where my first creations and I know there are quite buggy. Beside that, when I made them, there where not for FS2 or any other game, just experiments of what can I do. Just gave them away, because I thought they look nice and maybe someone else could use them....haven't thought about the problems you could have with them....sorry.

NO you can only change it in the source code.
Its not very difficult but many many work.

mmm i remember someone saying (never checked) that there are some black and white images in the vp files telling the game where the pieces of the screens have to go so probably you should work on those images

Yes there are these Black/White pieces are there and they are used in the mainhall thing, but no one, as far as I know, has ever tried to use the technic that changes the mainhall for the other screens. Mostly people just change the background. (Remembers me to ask if the B5P backgrounds will be realeased without the interface.)
