OK. So I might be getting a little over exited. But its still quite cool to see stuff millions of KM aways other than by seeing it on tv. Viewing it from your own home makes it more... "real".

Don't have that powerful of a telescope. Don't have a strong enough eye piece for it. I only have a 4mm and a 12.5mm eye piece. I used the 4mm one and it was a very humid day as well, so it blurred the picture quite a bit. But still proud of it.

I love my house for astronomy - We have no streetlights up here, we're on a hill, and we live on the outskirts of a medium sized town, so there's limited light pollution. You can see the milky way practically every summer night.

It's even better the further east you go - I took a biology excursion out to this semi remote national park thing last year - beautiful night sky, buit it was too damned cold to enjoy for too long .

Yeah, I know what you mean. The best time to view the stars here in Finland is during winter. And it gets REAL cold here. So I'll have to live with looking through glass, or if its not too cold outside and not covered by clouds (however unlikely) I'll drag the ol' scope outside. I've been looking at the moon now, OH MAN is it beautiful!
