Startopia was / is basically a space stattion simulator in the Theme Park mould. Except it's far more diverse - you can focus your station around a particular service, like providing prison facilities, or hospital beds, or just lots of Love Nests (alien brothels

).
And it's fecking genius. Graphics are great, the whole sort of gameplay model is perfectly judged, there's a (quirky, and obviously British) sense of humour throughout and it just all hangs together brilliantly. Almost certainly (and this is no exaggeration) the best game you never bought.
I did buy Project Eden (PC) though I've never really played it (got on a bit, then reformatted my PC when I finally got a windows disk). I felt sorry for it, cos there was a solitary copy on sale at GAME for the pricely sum of one pound and nought pence.
