i have plotted a graph with 2 formulas:
y1=300*1,08^x
y2=800*0,9^x

x=t=the time in years

i let my TI-83Plus calculate the intersection point, giving me x=t=5,37

now, instead of 5,37 years, i want 5 years and z months.

how?

37/100 * 12(months in year)

4.44 months

5 years 4.44 months

it really depends on what kind of months you want seeing they aren't all equal. The number of days would be more exact.

Agreed, Months change base from between 28 and 31.

The closest you could ask for I suppose, using DragonClaws equations is to say 1 month 15 Days.

If our Lord started the year he wants in January
