(I walk a lot, with heavy equipment - lol white man's burden lol - and try to go to gym now and then. But I'm a pathetic creature, so don't look at me.)

Falcon sets loose his shivan, now you have a reason to workout. Run Janos Run!

I used to play hockey a lot.. I may get back into that....
Although the last time I played I spent a few weeks laid out with a banged up leg. Got crosschecked, fell and slid into the boards legs first, twisted one of em up.

Just some basic stuff,  push-ups, pull-ups, walking etc.  to keep da blood circulating and me from collapsing into a micro black hole sucking in the whole office & the other staff members there.

Indeed, extensive and prolonged office work can be weery bad for your (at least) physical health, if not countered somehow ;)

I go to school on my bike, 12 clicks either way, so 24 a day. Aside from that, I did some running, before I got ill. I'm looking at picking it up again.

Apart from that, swimming or cycling. Low-impact stuff is good for ya. ;)

Did that in high school, and the main complaint was that I'm too focused on victory by myself.

[q] swimming or cycling.[/q]

By the looks of this thread, I might be buying a bike. Mainly because vyper + water  = lead weight (don't ask why, I'm just not very bouyant)

Anyone ever hear of a Kettlebell?  I've got 2...  And they are by far the best workout tools I have ever bought.

For working out it depends on what you are going for.  If you want to get huge muscles use the gym and lift weights, if you just want to loose alot of fat run.

I'm an ex-USMC...  We did 3 miles in 18 mins and then did pushups/situps/pullups...  That was good enough for me!

50 mins cycling most nights on the eccy bike, 200 sit-ups, 50 push ups (which I am ****e at), and the odd game of 5's when I can arrange it....probably about average fitness, I guess.

Running.  45 minutes, 3 times a week.
I'm a big guy, but it only takes a few weeks of jogging before you can run 4 miles without stopping.  I used to lift weights but i found that hard to keep focused on and be dedicated to.  Plus the fitness benefits aren't really there.
Jogging outdoors is much more fun than a gym.  You have to deal with hills, crossing the street, pedestrians (Neds in particular)... and ofcourse the weather, but that just adds to the benefits.  With a running jacket on you can still be wearing shorts in the rain and snow.  Its more of mix than just a running machine.
Jogging is pretty easy to get started, all you really need is an old t shirt, pair of shorts, and a reasonable pair of trainers (which you may need to risk 10 minutes in JJB sports for).  A digital stopwatch is handy, and an MP3 player provides the musical motivation.

See that's what would put me off!

I never learned Krav Maga like I wanted to.

[q](which you may need to risk 10 minutes in JJB sports for).[/q]

The pain is temporary.
