To a shrink, everything is a disorder. People aren't machines, and there is no such thing as "normal". Human differences get treated as if they're diaseses. We used to have personalities, now we have symptoms.

But I digress.

Although if I were to go for a psych eval, I suspect quite a bit may pop up.

A bit ADDish.  But I know people who are worse than I am...

Still, having done a little research and gained some perspective on it. Its not really a disorder...except in rare and extreme cases (usually ADHD - i.e. hyperactive).  Having a short attention span is likely the product of human evolution...some people are exceptional at concentration but consequently are less aware...people with a short attention span are more aware of changes to their surroundings.  For primitive humans...that means that the short attention span people will be the first ones to notice a predator sneaking up on a group.

Also, isn't SAD something you can treat by trying to get as much sunlight as possible? I'm not sure if thats true...but I thought it had to do alot with the sun (the depression becoming marked during the winter and low light levels).

[color=66ff00]Yeah, I have an annoyingly small attention span for some things, generally technical reading.

Thankfully I also have a bit of a stubborn streak which pulls me through.

One thing that's never effected by this is any hands-on activities. I tend to steam through them and stay up to the wee hours if i'm 'in the zone'.

BTW isn't SAD Seasonal Adjustive Disorder? Read that somewhere.

Supposedly, thats why its prevelant in places like alaska and canada and other farther north regions... You can be SAD for any one of the seasons though, but Winter is by far the most common...

I haven't heard of it... They probably mean the same thing essentially, since your Affect is your mood and stuff...
