I recently created this using my new found modelling "skills". If people would be so good as to leave some thoughts etc. on it - that'd be much appreciated!

Interesting...a heavy bomber or an atmospheric-capable transport, I think. For some reason it makes me think "Wing Commander" though I can't put my finger on why.

Blocky. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. Can we have some more views of it?

At the moment, it's a bit plain - it's a simple shape, so it needs more details on the faces. Perhaps a cockpit would be good as well. :)

I agree with ngtm1r. It could be some sort of civil atmospherical shuttle for travel between surface and orbit, but I kinda like it

Cheers guys, I'm about to go out drinking but I'll put some other views up some time soon.

I should point out that this is the first ship thats come anywhere near to complete from me - and I know I'm not to good (also that it is really blocky). But I gotta start somewhere!

Getter Robo G, are you sure you mean it's mine? I'm fairly sure this is the first thing I've ever really come close to completing in any modelling package ever.

As for the model itself.. I'm finding it rather hard to come up with any way to modify it other than bevelling. If I wanted curved surfaces etc, what would be the best way to go about that?

For reference I'm using 3DSMax7 and don't know to many tips or tricks at all.

I'm looking for it now, I think I remember getting it from SOUNDS OF THUNDER website or some other obsolete and forgotten one (this was lie 2 years ago)... PIC to come soon ;)

EDIT [Dammit! I can never find somethign when I look for it.. I must have moved it, I got like 80 diff folders off my shipyards folder for all games, mods ect, but it's barely organized. F me, 3 years of this and you'd think I had a real system in place...]

Chamfer edges, or try a low level nurms mesh smooth (I always try it, if only for a laugh).

Right now, I use chamfering and the play around with smoothing groups.
Meshsmooth is best left alone. It will increase your poly count considerably, without any real gain in detail (aside from smooth a look).

Play around with Symmetry modifier for symmetrical goodness.

Get comfy with cutting and creating faces, welding vertices etc.
