Constantine - The movie
Ok folks, just came back from watching this at the movies...

I must say, watching the trailer for this, I had mixed feelings, thinking "Meh, this is gonna be another matrix rip off, It'll suck but the pictures are pritty."

So I sat down with no real expectations. Well... I was happily suprised. I really enjoyed this movie. It was a good ol film noir paranormal detective story. It lent a bit from other films, but put its own good spin on things, and it was very well crafted.

By no means is this some SUPER movie, but more akin to one of those really entertaining films you go out to watch. The plot is heavy with messages and pointing towards the comic books (which I heavent read) and it has rather crafty dialogue.

I quite enjoyed it, theres supposedly an unrated version coming out on dvd that I will deffinitely buy. This is one of those films that made me go "This is why I like going to movies".

I guess the only minus for me, and its a small minus btw, is Keanu Reeves. Now, I ain't no Reeves hater, I quite like his movies. But in some parts of the film he kinda "over acts" the part. But otherwise does a fine job.

So I at least recomend this movie. I've always like movies that dealt with religeon, war between heaven and hell, angel and demon movies. So this will definitely go up in my top ten list in that category.
I have returned... Again...

Like his movies? Err, which would those? In any event, he's probably trying to compensate for The Matrix, which admittedly, wasn't entirely his fault. I do plan on seeing Constantine sometime soon though, it looked kind of neat and I haven't seen a 'normal' movie in a while.

Keanu Reeves, OVERacting? This I must see. The guy has the emotive range of a dead tree.
Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

By over acting I mean, you kinda see him stress a few sentences in his dialogue. A bit like "ooh, now I'm being honest, pay attention". And kinda over gesticulating his movements, like using his lighter. I dunno if it was "meant" to be that way, but it looked kinda silly.
