It's a story, the story of the first manned hyperspace flight, and the first contact with  an alien race.

What can I say.  Gotta show off my stuff as well then.

The dGOU Loose Cannon, here seen moving away from Ghorjan Orbital in the Ghorjan system.  Click on the pic to see the 1600x1200 version. (410k)

Of a later production run of the same class as the Limiting Factor, it is distinguishable by an additional nose bulge as well as a midship 'collar.'  Currently demilitarized, it's new orders are to rendezvous with the Questionable Ethics for as-yet undisclosed operations.  These will involve fully rearming to include the following; 5 military grade displacers, 4 military-grade effectors, 4 plasma chambers, 2 lineguns, a full complement of CAMs and Nanohole bombs as well as secondary armament of CREWS.  Due to the Loose Cannon's wartime experiences, onboard autorepair facilites are more than three times standard for GOUs.

Opinions?  The Orbital was a total last-minute addendum, I figured it would make a nice touch.  It also looks better in the big version.  Built and rendered in 3ds MAX.

WE ARE HARD LIGHT PRODUCTIONS. YOU WILL LOWER YOUR FIREWALLS AND SURRENDER YOUR KEYBOARDS. WE WILL ADD YOUR INTELLECTUAL AND VERNACULAR DISTINCTIVENESS TO OUR OWN. YOUR FORUMS WILL ADAPT TO SERVICE US. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.

Hmm? Can anyone say "First Contact". You might as well have had a Vulcan ship meeting them.

I like the idea though. And the J-Drive glowing is excellent.

I think someone should do a FS campaign like that. The early days of Terran Sub-Space travel. Sorta like how Startrek has gone retro.

UTSA = United Terran Space Administrations, a union of all the NASA's of the world that was created when hyperspace physics where discovered.

It's from an universe I created, partially influenced by Babylon 5.
Those images don't belong directly to the story that my other images tell (look into my fan art section), it's just that wanted to do this part of the timeline.

PS: all images rendered in Truespace 4.2, no postproduction, except of adding the text parts with PSP7, background images done using Universe and PSP7, only the earth in the first pictures is rendered.
Ship models done in Rhino3D and FST Shape, textures are modified from various XWA models, except of the FS2 thruster glow anis.

Yep, I'm doing that too... I even began to convert it under FS2, must had to give up because of my inhability to do any subobjects... and my capships are full of big bareled guns...:

I'm not sure if it will ever come to life as a game mod. It would begreat, but I have to work on other projects.
