Yes, which is why I'm now saying we should bring in the ACLU.

You have to keep in mind though guys, yelling and screaming like barbarians won't help. That will just solidify the other side of the walls resolve.

Things have to be handled civily. You can't just start outright yelling and abusing people and religons, or perhaps we deserve no better.

Well, I tried going to the ACLU website and seeing if they knew about this, but their site doesn't have any obvious links for things like this.

Additionally, you would think that Christians would support the free flow of ideas seeing what protestants went through around the time of Martin Luther and the 95 thesis. Unfortunatly, that is not the case.

Additionally, from a business standpoint, the IMAX theatres might be trying to attract the family entertainment market. Basically as I see it, they might attract more customers with family entertainment than with movies with an evolutionary spin to them.

I should also mention that many companies get blackmailed like this all the time as well. Particularly by fringe groups like Rainbow/PUSH/REV. Jesse Jackson. And sometimes it is easier to pay them off or just do as they request. Horrible as this sounds it is the truth.

An 'evolutionary spin'?

When we start using terms like that for a factual documentary, we know we're losing....... it's no longer science, it's an 'evolutionary spin'.  And I know that's not your meaning - but you can see they're having an effect, can't you?

Suddenly documentaries have 'spin' to them... even when the 'spin' is a crucial fact within the documentary.

In other words, turning science into a faith - and thus making it an equal to the dogmatics.

You, in all your arrogance, think that pants were invented by mammals?

Now who's the fool? The more conceited they are, the harder they fall.

As an American, it is my right to ignore facts, and believe whatever I want to be true! And to teach it to my children my beliefs! We know that we were seeded here by aliens millenia ago! And no cinema documentary can tell us otherwise!  Or else...

these things are typicaly in science center type things, so this would be like me going down to the local church and demanding they stop preaching the Bible because it mentions creationism, wich I disagree with, and them agreeing to it.

There is absolutly no standing in court. The ACLU has no business even sueing over this. People here are acting like this was done with out the consent of the theatres. Even if the ACLU got involved, it would be hypocritical since they would basically be desiring to limit the free speach rights of an organization. Again before someone says because these groups are supressing this view through lobbying is defacto violation of the freespeach, I remind you that no one is preventing these documentaries from being made. Theatres are just choosing not to show them.

if you don't shut up I'm going to kill you.

nothing to see here, just two people useing there rights of free speach. one to make threats, the other to keep his mouth shut.

why is it that when the ACLU intemadates some school into haveing a 'winter break' it's somehow a violation of your rights, but when "The God Squad!" here does it, it's alright?

umm yeah whatever. I was speaking from a legal standpoint. Additionally I didn't mention god or religion once in that post.

I don't like what they did but they have rights. And so do the theatres.

On a side note, I am sick of people acting like the ACLU is the great protector when in fact they are one sided and arbitrary: supporting only those that allign with their views.
