Yeah Nico, though I think you can agree that desperate times call for desperate measures. My life's changed a fair bit in the last twelve months.

WeatherOp... sadly, I think that super carrior remained in in its untextured form until Apothess left the community. I'd love to try and contact him again and see where he's at right now, though. :)

UT, you'd be surprised at just how simple SPIRE is and how little it can do compared to what's out there. It's just that when I render I'm mostly so excited about rendering that I pour heaps of time into it and experiment with lots of crazy stuff. That, if anything, is what gave my renders their distinctive look. ;)

Sorry Grug, I'm pretty clueless in regard to specifics with 3dsmax. :D
- Eddie Kent Woo, Setekh, Steak (of Steaks), AWACS. Seriously, just pick one.
HARD LIGHT PRODUCTIONS, now V3.0. Bringing Modders Together since January 2001.
THE HARD LIGHT ARRAY. Always makes you say wow.

Hmmm, its usually the simple answer that is the last to be realized... :doubt:
Still, it would be nice to learn how to use the lighting glare effects etc properly in 3ds Max...

@ Nico ~ That post made me cry. :(

Look for the 'Blur fire' plugin; that's quite good IMO (and free).  I can't find a link for it justnow, unfortunately.

And look up the info on combustion in the max help files.  It's decent startpoint.

*whistles*

Haven't seen some of those in a long long time, and they sure do bring back fond memories. It's a great shame you can't keep up the rendering Ed but I do understand your reasons. I get the feeling that - for you at least - getting back into rendering is like getting back on a bicycle though. So don't ever get rid of Spire - you never know when you may want to turn a hand to it :)

It sure brings it all back to it, looking at those though.
