Oddly enough, I've got an interview with a music rights company on Friday.  They're a spinoff from the AIM (association of Independent Musicians) handling online rights for a bunch of indie labels and bands.

As far as I can tell, they're Good Guys.

Fixed your typo.

You mean they actually came to your door? I never heard of ISPs getting pissed over that before, must be a small one.

I think he's implying some form of P2P malarky or CD copying, rather than perhaps buying tunes off the net and burning, or simply having backups.

Or, in fact, buying them, you know, in a shop. Crazy idea, I know, but some of us still do it...

Sho-op?

To be honest, I still prefer buying CDs to even digital freebies.  something to do with touch and the nice fuzzy feeling of having a big stack of 'em.  Mostly it's wee bands nowadays, so I think I'm not giving the evil bigcorps too much money :D

I'm a sucker for special editions, too.  Like, the ones with free DVDs and stuff.

Spoiler:
Whee!  15 thousand.

Hell, I buy vinyl (mostly rather obscure bands from tiny labels). Now that's a nice feeling, opening a parcel and seeing cover art a foot wide... :thepimp:

EDIT: Stuff like this, in fact.

The vinyl (the "Mighty and Superior" EP by Isen Torr) on the right is one of only 333 copies in the world. It also helps that it's one of the finest records I've ever heard... ;)

Small and moronic. These are the same assfaces who sent a cease and decist email ordering me to stop downloading FS2. I did not comply.

Sounds like you need to find a new ISP, if they're prying into your surfing habits...

The first three tracks are worth it.  The other 8 are also awesome.

City-granted monopoly. :( If I want to get away from them, the best I can do is 28.8kb/s dialup that usually gets something more like 3kb.

pyro he said city-granted monopoly - that means he's either on DSL or Cable and the other option is not available

city-granted monopolies are not always bad - just usually bad.

you have to make the tersm of their granted monopoly threatening if they don't deliver the quality
