Imperium Galactica 3
Anyone saw any pictures from it?

It has beams I tell you!!!

Suspiciously Freespace-looking beams...

I like it, and does it having Freespace beams make it a bad thing?

I've seen the movie.. it isn't exactly a beam... its more like a "instant transmition" laser that has an initial blast and then fades away, doing no more damage other than when it actually fires.

i loved IG2...even if it was a little heavy going at times.

If only they got the homeworld engine for the battle bits...

i found the AI to be slightly substandard in IG2, but immensely enjoyed the game.

Well in the demo of IG2, they rushed me with cloaking and this weapon that damaged my ship and disabled it at the same time... oooo I lost so badly on the Hard level...

Yes, IG3 is only RTS from what I've read.

I quite liked the whole space combat/ground combat/ empire management balance myself- kinda had a Babylon 5 feel to it in some ways...
I agree, I have often thought how much better it would have been if they used the homeworld engine... and the ground control engine for the colonies
That is one hella cool game, I must say.

Heh, just had a thought, if only it was moddable, imaging how cool would a B5 mod be

Well, sorry Claw, no ground fighting.

About the moddable part, yes, that was my first thought, B5 mod, FS mod, even something like HomeWorld 2 mod (if they never finish that).

But I think that because it's a RTS, it isn't HLP stuff. I mean HLP covers only space-sims, am I right?

Well, it just happened that way actually. We'll see yet, we are all very interested in anything sci-fi-ish.
