Your suggestion isn't even remotely like the original though. Predator = blokes getting bumped off by invisible monster. That's the basic idea (and the whole point of the film, in fact). You want something different.

They only ever engage in open warfare when attacking a Xeno world to capture a Queen.

The name 'Predator' kind of indicates something that is good at hunting and killing, and which has some form of prey (i.e. people).  It'd be a bit pointless to make said predator cannon fodder.  You might as well call it 'meatbag', then.

Not to mention the whole storyline of the 2 movies was about hunting/being hunted.

I think that if they do remake Predator, they should try and repair some of the damage AVP did. Stick to the fundamentals of the original Predator, but bring the Alien universe back into the fold in a non-****ty way.

Like setting it between Aliens and Alien 3, with Weyland-Yutani sending some Colonial Marines on a standard 'lambs to the slaughter' mission to 'investigate a disturbance'. Like some ship made a crash landing at a long-abandonned outpost, reported in twice about crew members going missing and finding 'weird eggs', then stopped transmitting. The Company thinks it's because the Xenos got the base and send the Marines in. They get to the base and find a badly decomposed, decapitated Queen hung upside down by her toes in the docking bay, surrounded by Xeno corpses that've been arranged into a hellish shrine.

They spread out and keep finding more and more aliens (Xeno, Predator and otherwise) strung up around the base. The whole place has been turned into a collosal network of trophy rooms by some elite Predator that got sick of hunting inferior game, turned on the other Predators and has spent the last 300 years butchering its way across every technologically advanced world in the known universe..

That'd let them fix the AVP damage and ignore the 'way of the warrior' code of ethics. Figthing your bog-standard Predator would leave the characters lots of get-outs where they coul avoid being killed. But if they made the Predator one that'd abandonned all moral, ethical and clan codes it'd mean they'd have a free reign to give it horrific new ways to butcher the Human prey.

All they had to do with the AVP movie was make the game "AVP 2" into a movie.


I still think the AVP movie was entertaining at least.
