There are hundreds of HTML code editors out there, personally I have always used Crimson Editor. (http://crimsoneditor.com/)

If your doing HTML I would say its an absolute must that you see the code, it is VERY easy to learn and it dosen't take long.

There is also Araneae. At least i like the release candidates available from the forum, though the Crimson Editor is also very good.

As there seems to be several Crimson Editor users around here has anyone made a custom version (*.SPC, *.KEY ) for table files?

Ive been doing it by hand for a while but I just thought I might be able to line up images and other things more easily with an editor.  But yea the manual approach does feel like you've accomplished more when your done

NVU is good for fiddling around with tables.  (Before discovering CSS, my pages were table heavy.  Of course, after discovering CSS I rarely have to use NVU anymore...)  It also has a number of annoying bugs.

You can always give Amaya a go.  It's an open source editor 'endorsed' by W3C.
