A question for everyone
I'm considering releasing the GTExD to the public (that's you guys...   ). However, it's not as ready as I'd like it to be - ideally it would have debris and LOD's. It also had some path problems, which should be fixed, but I haven't had time to test it.

I have zero time to put into its continued development, so I'm considering going "open-source" - making the POF & COB available for download. Anyone would be able to play with it, use it in their missions, whatever. But if anyone thinks to himself "Hey, it'd be cool to make debris/LOD's for this thing!" - please tell me what you're planning (for coordination purposes), and go for it! Then, when whatever you decided to do is "complete", send me what you've done, and I'll give it a quick test and put that version up for public download (why am I explaining open-source to you all - I'm sure you know more about it than I do... Oh well...   ).

If I get enough replies of interest in this topic, I'll go for it, and maybe even make a simple web page to monitor what various people are working on, what's been done, etc.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Setekh, this is your cue to p1mp your latest work...

America, stand assured that Israel truly understands what you are going through.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

That's a great idea, Sandwich. Perhaps we should coordinate? I'll be releasing LWOs for all the ships I design, for whichever game they get used in. I'll probably dedicate a subsite off 404error.com for it. Something like "Mods.404error.com" or some such.
