Re: Thing ain't looking up for Bush.
So are these elections all determined by popular vote? Cause they kinda humiliate the 49% and 51% results american races always get.

Uh yeah, as far as I know they're all direct majority elections.

It's pretty easy to convince a populace to vote for you when you throw welfare money at them, declare the leader of the most powerful nation in the world as the boogeyman that you'll protect them from, and most likely have teams of "convincers" out in the vicinity of the polling places to help remind your voters who has the power.

Remember, Saddam Hussein always won his elections by a landslide...100%.

Re: Thing ain't looking up for Bush.
Meh, seems to be a choice between a government that tells everyone outside the borders what they ought to be doing to be'properly democratic' or a government that tells everyone inside the borders exactly the same thing.

If I were an American, I would understand why they'd rather have Bush pissing out of the Tent than Clinton pissing into it. It's not like either party is really going to do something about the problems of over-corporatism or industry led social policies, because it's those very problems that provide the funding for the people who are promising to cure them.
