Hippy though he may be, you can't not like Michael Caine in that movie (and Clive Owen is exactly what I imagine most of your British to be like: hunched, generally miserable, staring off into the middle distance.) Although I didn't come off as particularly anti-men to me, it's only the men who ever get anything done (Clive Owen, Jasper, Sid...supposedly the Human Project is men too) - the women are either cannon fodder or helpless victims.
And yeah, the whole internment scene was like Call of Duty meets Gaza, which considering the amount of games and movies I've been exposed to deserves kudos for being at all tense and engaging.
