Reminds me of all the slugs that are in alaska. Either stomping them with my bear feet when i was 3, salting the **** out of them with the dining table salt, or taking a piss on them when i was older, high sodium was just awesome. Man...they just melt and die, but talk about one way to make them move faster for a bit

BTW, what I meant was that in the epilogue cutscene of FS1, it is clearly stated that Shivans can rebuild nodes. But I guess this is overpowered by other evidence in FS1.

And in the ending cutscene for FS2, it is stated that the Shivans are exiles looking for a way back home.  Both cutscenes are the opinions of in-game characters, however.

Maniax comes back after moving to New Zealand, which is on the other side of the world from everywhere, to his fiancée. and you come back after being run over by a car. "All the jump nodes from Earth are gone, but the Shivans can rebuild them.  I'm told we can expect them again, but not in my lifetime."

We never observed the Shivans rebuilding a jump node in FS1 (or FS2 for that matter) so that's purely speculation.  And the Shivans returned within the lifetime of characters in FS1.  So it's opinion/speculation.

And speculation can be proven wrong.  Karajorma and others have pointed out that if FS2 had never been made, post-FS1 campaigns would have focused on the Shivans rebuilding the node to Sol.
