I just used Turey's FS2 Installation file. I have followed the steps excatly as it says. Now I am encountering a few problems:

Missing some files:
stu_fs2.vp
tango1_fs2.vp
tango2_fs2.vp
tango3_fs2.vp
smarty_fs2.vp
warble_fs2.vp

And a problem with Fred 2 open:

Error: Current GL Version of 1.1 is less than the required version of 1.2.
Switch video modes or update your drivers.

I do have OpenAl 1.1, but does it associate with OpenGL? I know those are not compulsry files, but I still want music and voice inside FS2!

Well if you're missing some of the main game data, stu_fs2.vp, tango1_fs2.vp, tango2_fs2.vp, tango3_fs2.vp, smarty_fs2.vp, warble_fs2.vp, then I believe that would be your problem.

If you can't find OpenGL 1.2, change to Direct 3D8 under the Video tab of the Launcher. It's apparently not as great as OpenGL, but if all else fails try that.

And I think I see Kara coming.

The only reason I used Turey's installer is because I cannot run the retail CD setup (DOS program doesn't work on mine pc)back when I had a XP, it worked.

So basically I do miss cutscenes, voice, music etc.

Also, I know where to get openal 1.2. But does it work after I got 1.2?

While this is a problem, it's not as big a problem as the next one, so we'll wait on this.

I'm going to take a wild guess that you're using Windows Vista with either an Intel or ATI graphics card? If so, try upgrading your graphics card driver, but don't get your hopes up. OpenGL support on Vista with anything but an nVidia card is spotty.

Finally got it to FRED to work!...but with ugly graphics.



Oh, I got the files from my CD, except the voice file....(stu_fs2.vp) and nebuale backgrounds (not included with installer as far as I can see)

Try changing the view settings to wireframe or so that they show the model.
