Is comodo or Jetico firewall better?
I'm used to how awesome zonealarm is but i've heard that it sucks. Ok, i was recommended jetico and comodo firewalls in the past for also free solutions that were called better.

Quite frankly which one is better? And which one would be great to toss on a computer for those who are just clueless about computers?

I'm asking these questions because i build and fix computers for people as my summer job by myself, and i'm pretty good at it. One thing people like is the free better alternative softwares i know about, and teach people to use if they want them. Of course i include avast antivirus which makes people really happy for experienced users, and for novices since the program is very powerful, and upgrades and updates itself in the background (it's a program you hardly have to touch unless you get a virus, and even when you do, you don't need to touch avast that much to click delete on an infected file that avast detects). The last computers i worked on i included avast and zonealarm (avast no longer has issues with the zonealarm firewall). The avast was obviously a good decision, the zonealarm i'm hoping i wont regret, i don't want people confused about the allow/deny dialogs that come up, as they will have the slightest clue of what to allow or deny. I can see people denying internet explorer and mozilla firefox for example, of course i send the computer back to the person with all of the basic programs that access the net and need to access the net already allowed in zonealarm, but somebody may eventually end up not allowing that update service part of whatever software they like using cluelessly all the time.

Of course i do tell people what i did to fix their computer, what is new on there, and show how to use the new stuff they wanted. Anyway, you get the gist on what kind of firewall i want to toss on people's computers who ask for a antivirus/firewall combo...ie basic security. Because quite frankly i do know that people are smart, but i run into plenty of stupid people with computers. And teaching them openoffice.org, using avast, how to keep a certain problem from happening again, or how to use nero is actually easier and remembered by the people i teach, as where what to deny or allow for accessing the internet is easily a more complicated issue.

Jetico or comodo, right now i don't know which.

Re: Is comodo or Jetico firewall better?
Comodo is a bit more user friendly while Jetico may please advanced users more. Both are about as good in protection however. I haven't used either of them for long time so that's about as much as I can say. Comodo has anti-virus and anti-malware applications too, but I haven't used them. The anti-virus app is still in beta though.

Re: Is comodo or Jetico firewall better?
Ok, that's what i was figuring with comodo. I checked out the website for jetico and it looked nice, for someone like me, but one thing i didn't like about it was that there's a freeware version, and the latest version which wasn't free, and i thought this sucked. The reviews for jetico were good though, people were happy with it, but the reviews for jetico were just as strong as the ones for comodo. I went with comodo because the only version of their firewall is the free version. I was like this sounds like a better deal since i know it will be the latest version for people all the time. So i was working on a person's computer and did the duty of replacing mcaffee antivirus (with their consent of course, plus they knew that mcaffee sucked, but that's all they had for protection, i don't blame them) and firewall with avast antivirus and comodo firewall. A good powerful combo ;)

EDIT:
Yeah comodo does seem more user friendly than zonealarm free edition. It bring up a window saying the program file name, the application name, if it's a service or not, and whether or not to allow or deny and remember that setting or not. It's a lot more clear and easier to figure out what's trying to access the net which lets people formulate a better opinion on whether they should block something or not.
