Smaller ships with hangar?
For one of my future campaign projects I need a corvette sized ship with a hangar. Vasudan design is prefered, but terran is okay, too. I've been searching for this for a while now and found nothing that matches my demands. This Karuna class from the Blue Planet campaign is really good, but it looks so modern. What I need is some predecessor to the Typhon (respectively Orion) class. Big enough to house 8-10 wings, but too small to take on modern destroyers like the Hecate.

Typhoon? What? Is that a new ship?

Ops, sorry, just saw it myself. My most subservient apologies.

Re: Smaller ships with hangar?
I agree, the difficulty of finding proper midsize ships with fighterbays is frustrating. (By "proper" i mean "not horrendously expensive or special-issue SOC fare").

As Colecampbell says, INF R1 has a ship called the Bastet which might fit the bill. Too small to be a proper destroyer (~1.2km IIRC) but it has fighterbays and doesn't look all that new.

(edit: i was wrong, it's 1.4km)

You also could make the Udjat work.

R1 also has a Terran fighterbay corvette.

Looking for a similar ship.  The Baset would work, but it wasn't released.  You could try the Zagreus, also in INFA.  Maybe I'll learn how to model and make one.

Hey, I said I want a ship, not a flying block littered with turrets. ;) The Bastet, hm? It's not in my Inferno release, but I've already heard of that ship. Will take a look around for it...

It's not in R1, it was supposed to be a bonus ship in INFA, but it never got relased.

Oops...Wrong ship. Or is a revamped Bastet in INFA?

Re: Smaller ships with hangar?
The old Bastet is in INFR1 as the VCI's flagship, and a revamped Bastet is in INFASA.

  • A one hit wonder, you still want to touch this.
Re: Smaller ships with hangar?
LOl, you could screw the terran or vasudan design preference in favor of a corvette that already has a fighter bay which is a shivan corvette.
Every pilot's goal is to rise up in the ranks and go beyond their purpose to a place of command on a very big ship. Like the colossus; to baseball bat everyone.

I never saw that.  I guess I never looked through Inferno's tables.  Thanks.
