ok, so you can make your wingmates fire when you fire, but can you make them shoot at what you're shooting at?
I'm assuming this was for that bit in the X-wing books when the squadron of Y-wings take out the ISD by linking their torps to Corran's targeting computer while he dodged the laser fire. Right?
Yes and yes.
How does this exactly work?
Currently, it links through the comm system. You have the victim targeted, you use the comm menu to select which ships you want to fire, then you pull the trigger. Eventually, you'll be able to do the same thing via SEXP.
Can I like it with capships also and are all linked ships are firing at the same target?
Yes and yes.
Also in your example all ships where allready faceing the target. What is if you try to do this during a fight? I get a lock but is it requiered that all others also have a look on the target or will they just shoot without a lock?
The others will automatically acquire lock as long as you have the correct ship targeted. When you issue the command, the ships are supposed to stay where they are, unless the ship moves out of missile range or moves behind them, then they should move to correct. Unfortunately, the "Stay Near" AI goal doesn't work exactly the way I expected it to, so I have to work on that.
