This is as much detail i'll go into. I find out early next week if i'm eligible for a surgical procedure. If so a good 4 weeks of waiting to have it. If not then triple that and i'm off to meet bosch and wolfe. Just wanted to say that facing my mortality has yet again hit me so i countered it by re-reading the original DS thread in classics and have lolled myself so much i fear you knocked a month off my clock. Worth it though. There were some absolutely classic quotes waiting to be resurrected there.

Why are they making you wait so long for the procedure if you are elligible? At the medical center I work at, we'd have you in by the end of the week, if not tomorrow if it was that urgent. Have you considered going elsewhere where the wait won't be so long? Anyways, PM me if you want to talk about that option.

Dunno about the UK, but in Canada you have to wait 52 weeks + for some cancer treatments. Four years for a knee replacement.

That's why probably why Canada was ranked 30th in the world for health care by the WHO. Worrying considering the UK was ranked 18th despite years of the Tories systematically destroying the NHS, but still above the US who were 37th.

My grandfather just got his replaced, after 3 years of pain. My dad's friend got both replaced near instantly in India or something for 10 000$ airfare/accommodations included.
