Wizardry, in this situation, is just a fancy way of saying pointlessly wasting class time. Of which it seems the teacher made a habit, according to Zonination.

I used to have a recurring sub teacher for several years through elementary and middle school who was like this. He was an old man who used to bring a boom box to class and have everyone dance to the music, and did various other strange things. Everyone loved it when he showed up since we knew there would be no work that day.

QFT. This guy tells us stories about his life, and he talks about how all the teachers at every other school are imbeciles. The kids will egg him on (come on, tell us about your dog) and he does.

Yeah, I got it: there are ways to incorporate magic tricks to, for example, Physics lectures (whoa whadda surprise, who would'be thought of that of Mika?).  The thing is that they are quite memorable. Think about your trusty beer can, it is possible to set it to a balanced position of 45 degrees from the surface it is sitting on, if one has enjoyed about half of the enjoyable golden content. I recall seeing this trick once in a confrerence, and since then it has been my favourite in parties. It is a quite good demonstration of balancing forces, and, plus the demonstrator can get at least half a can of beer for free!

Um, the highest population density I have so far seen was in Beijing. In the University dormitories actually. You could easily have more than five people living in a room of the before mentioned 14.5 m^2 size.
