I would though I have freespace with no music and almost no sound so...not sure, could be boring without those! But yeah, just don't lose your head and keep people informed.

Everything. Cutscenes, ani's, voices etc.

On the story side of things (if you're keeping to FS1 time), remember:
No GTI Rebellion
No NTF
No Knossos
No GTVA

1) If you are making an FS1 campaign, that is probably good

2) The file format the cutscenes use is copyrighted by Intercrap or Volition or someone, so you cannot make your own.  However, if you make something up in AVI format and send it to Volition, they say they are willing to convert it for you so that you can use it as a cutscene.

This is your first time making a campaign. Keep it simple!!

A good storyline and exciting missions would suffice. Cutscenes are little use if they are just in the campaign for the sake of it. Voices are nice but most people can live without them and ani's are for new ships so unless you intend to have new models and you really can't stand a static picture of the model I'd say forget about that as well. If you keep it simple you can get a campaign done in a realistic time scale and you'll have more fun doing it.
