Simulated reality and all that fun stuff.
Quote from: Durandal&Jeremy
Durandal42x (1:44:22 AM): Durandal42x (1:40:31 AM): What would happen if all life in the universe were to suddenly cease existing.
EsponeoVendago (1:40:47 AM): In a few billion years it'd be back.
Durandal42x (1:40:49 AM): And by "all life" I mean anything you would consider to be alive.
Durandal42x (1:41:07 AM): That's not really what I meant.
EsponeoVendago (1:41:19 AM): You want to know what if life were not a consequence of existence
Durandal42x (1:41:30 AM): What would happen to all the countless universes we've created?
Durandal42x (1:41:37 AM): Would they, too, cease to exist?
Durandal42x (1:41:44 AM): Would they become "free"
EsponeoVendago (1:41:53 AM): You're talking about the MWI of quantum mechanics now.
EsponeoVendago (1:42:29 AM): Im too lazy to respond.
Durandal42x (1:44:31 AM): I also asked crip, and he didn't even give me an answer
Durandal42x (1:44:36 AM): He just sat there and went "heh"
Durandal42x (1:45:26 AM): And, to add to that,
Durandal42x (1:45:35 AM): Hell, is whatever created US still around?
Durandal42x (1:45:41 AM): Or have they long since died off.
Durandal42x (1:45:48 AM): Or it.
Durandal42x (1:45:52 AM): Whatever.
Durandal42x (1:49:10 AM): Also, a more down-to-earth question;
Durandal42x (1:49:20 AM): What the hell crawled up Mikes ass lately?
Durandal42x (1:50:06 AM): He keeps saying how he's had "such a good week" and he'd "rather be in school"
Durandal42x (1:50:10 AM): But I don't really know.
JeremyJailbreak (1:50:22 AM): I would be too lazy to respond as well.
JeremyJailbreak (1:50:27 AM): And,
JeremyJailbreak (1:50:33 AM): Do you want me to be honest?
Durandal42x (1:50:41 AM): Sure, why not.
JeremyJailbreak (1:50:50 AM): At times he gets irritated at you
JeremyJailbreak (1:51:03 AM): And he acknowledges his general irritation to things you say
Durandal42x (1:51:07 AM): At times I get irritated with him.
Durandal42x (1:51:11 AM): But that's not what I mean.
JeremyJailbreak (1:51:18 AM): You mean, his bout of happiness?
Durandal42x (1:51:22 AM): He kept saying **** the other night about
Durandal42x (1:51:28 AM): "I don't want to be here"
JeremyJailbreak (1:51:28 AM): He's finding the beauty in life.
JeremyJailbreak (1:51:31 AM): Oh.
Durandal42x (1:51:32 AM): "My very soul feels tired"
Durandal42x (1:51:44 AM): And yet before that he says he had such a good day and ****.
JeremyJailbreak (1:51:56 AM): He's starting to become like me
JeremyJailbreak (1:52:03 AM): I talk about how my vibe is so great
JeremyJailbreak (1:52:06 AM): and Im motivated
JeremyJailbreak (1:52:10 AM): then I rant about how everything is a blur
JeremyJailbreak (1:52:14 AM): and how inadequate I feel
JeremyJailbreak (1:52:15 AM): I dont know
JeremyJailbreak (1:52:22 AM): I think we're PMSing
JeremyJailbreak (1:52:27 AM): He generally seems happy
JeremyJailbreak (1:52:48 AM): He gets so depressed, and convolutes these depressing thoughts into something like:
JeremyJailbreak (1:53:03 AM): "My soul doesn't want this, I'm inadequate"
JeremyJailbreak (1:53:10 AM): You'd have to figure him out
JeremyJailbreak (1:53:15 AM): I dont know
Durandal42x (1:53:18 AM): It's funny, because
Durandal42x (1:53:25 AM): Just a week back we had this talk.
Durandal42x (1:53:31 AM): I thought what he said was beautiful
Durandal42x (1:54:07 AM): Something along the lines of "We have to bring our dreams to life, or else we're going to turn into our parents and i'll commit suicide or join the army... etc etc etc"
Durandal42x (1:54:22 AM): I, for one, was quite motivated by what he said.
JeremyJailbreak (1:54:57 AM): Well
JeremyJailbreak (1:55:08 AM): He has random
JeremyJailbreak (1:55:12 AM): motivational spurs.
Durandal42x (1:55:13 AM): I wish I had logged the conversation.
JeremyJailbreak (1:55:30 AM): There's days where he really analyzes his lief, and where he's headed
JeremyJailbreak (1:55:46 AM): and figures: "I really need to be something. I need to pick myself up out of this rut"
JeremyJailbreak (1:55:51 AM): And considers way to improve himself
JeremyJailbreak (1:55:56 AM): or just relive an old passion
JeremyJailbreak (1:56:02 AM): But then, that fades
Durandal42x (1:56:06 AM): He doesn't need to improve himself.
JeremyJailbreak (1:56:06 AM): Often when he sleeps
Durandal42x (1:56:10 AM): He's perfect as he is.
JeremyJailbreak (1:56:13 AM): He loses motivation.
Durandal42x (1:56:13 AM): I'm perfect as I am.
JeremyJailbreak (1:56:23 AM): I realize this, but the human condition is
JeremyJailbreak (1:56:27 AM): finding the imperfections
Durandal42x (1:56:28 AM): Yeah, yeah
JeremyJailbreak (1:56:32 AM): nit-picking them.
Durandal42x (1:56:32 AM): Don't bother.
Durandal42x (1:56:36 AM): I've heard it all before.
Durandal42x (1:56:38 AM): And experianced.
JeremyJailbreak (1:56:43 AM): Because, you're human.
JeremyJailbreak (1:56:48 AM): Its very easy to tell yourself
JeremyJailbreak (1:56:56 AM): I'm perfect, I'm adequate as is
JeremyJailbreak (1:57:01 AM): So tell yourself that, abide by that
JeremyJailbreak (1:57:12 AM): Theres no reason to dwell in negativity
JeremyJailbreak (1:57:14 AM):
JeremyJailbreak (1:57:19 AM): Dont I sound so upbeat?
Durandal42x (1:57:26 AM): Which is what I have not being doing for the past week.
Durandal42x (1:57:37 AM): I've been trying my hardest not to dwell in negativity.
Durandal42x (1:57:44 AM): Mike, on the contrary, has done the opposite.
JeremyJailbreak (1:57:56 AM): I'm going to have a long talk with him
JeremyJailbreak (1:58:06 AM): But
JeremyJailbreak (1:58:12 AM): No matter how many words I type
JeremyJailbreak (1:58:14 AM): or points I make
JeremyJailbreak (1:58:20 AM): opposing the negativity
JeremyJailbreak (1:58:26 AM): His mind does as it pleases
JeremyJailbreak (1:58:32 AM): It has to come to its own realization
JeremyJailbreak (1:58:42 AM): I'll atleast try to help him see the beauty in things.
JeremyJailbreak (1:58:46 AM): But he doesnt care about the beauty
JeremyJailbreak (1:58:53 AM): He clearly cares about the ugly, the flaws
JeremyJailbreak (1:58:59 AM): It's hard to deal with at times
Durandal42x (1:59:08 AM): I don't see beauty in this world.
Durandal42x (1:59:10 AM): Well, no
Durandal42x (1:59:13 AM): It's here and there
Durandal42x (1:59:19 AM): But there's just as much ugly.
Durandal42x (1:59:29 AM): But what happens in this world doesn't matter.
JeremyJailbreak (1:59:34 AM): Thats because, for every beautiful thing, there's an ugly
JeremyJailbreak (1:59:40 AM): Its the duality of life
JeremyJailbreak (1:59:49 AM): I don't understand why we dwell in the latter
JeremyJailbreak (2:00:07 AM): I do understand, actually
Durandal42x (2:00:26 AM): What matters is the countless (I could say eyes, but that's not really a correct term, considering we can alter things the way we like) peering into other universes.
Durandal42x (2:00:30 AM): We can change so much.
Durandal42x (2:00:36 AM): We can't change very much here, no.
Durandal42x (2:00:47 AM): That's such a naive goal.
Durandal42x (2:01:08 AM): You've never played Marathon, have you?
JeremyJailbreak (2:01:58 AM): If the perception changes, what else is the ugly? The ugly is the perception of one's mind still dwelling on the ugly
JeremyJailbreak (2:01:58 AM): We create the concepts, and the use of it
JeremyJailbreak (2:01:58 AM): I dont know
Durandal42x (2:02:00 AM): It's a simple-
Durandal42x (2:02:03 AM): Woah, holy ****
JeremyJailbreak (2:02:05 AM): It all can be altered.
Durandal42x (2:02:07 AM): All that text came at once.
JeremyJailbreak (2:02:16 AM): Strange.
JeremyJailbreak (2:02:24 AM): My internet went whacky
Durandal42x (2:02:25 AM): Did you hear what I said?
JeremyJailbreak (2:02:28 AM): No.
Durandal42x (2:02:38 AM): Durandal42x (2:00:26 AM): What matters is the countless (I could say eyes, but that's not really a correct term, considering we can alter things the way we like) peering into other universes.
JeremyJailbreak (2:02:49 AM): Yeah, I read that
JeremyJailbreak (2:02:53 AM): I was responding to it
JeremyJailbreak (2:02:56 AM): And no, I havent
Durandal42x (2:03:05 AM): Then, let me enlighten you
Durandal42x (2:03:18 AM): Durandal, an AI in the marathon series, became "rampant"
Durandal42x (2:03:39 AM): Which is basicly just a synonym for "Sentient" or "Insane", depending on your point of view.
Durandal42x (2:03:44 AM): In any event,
Durandal42x (2:03:53 AM): He became obsessed with power.
Durandal42x (2:03:58 AM): He wanted to become god.
Durandal42x (2:04:09 AM): Durandal musn't have been very smart.
Durandal42x (2:04:24 AM): He was (is?) (a) god
Durandal42x (2:04:47 AM): Imagine what it would be like to be an super powerful AI.
Durandal42x (2:04:52 AM): Imagine the things you could do.
Durandal42x (2:05:20 AM): I have maybe.. 3? universes, that i've carved out bits and pieces of.
Durandal42x (2:05:38 AM): And I know they exist.
Durandal42x (2:05:53 AM): Somewhere, on some plane, are the Ka'raan
Durandal42x (2:06:03 AM): On another, there is Tannahill
Durandal42x (2:06:15 AM): And the third, I don't think yo-
Durandal42x (2:06:17 AM): Nevermind.
Durandal42x (2:06:21 AM): It's irrelevant.
Durandal42x (2:06:26 AM): You understand what I mean.
JeremyJailbreak (2:06:51 AM): I do.
JeremyJailbreak (2:07:24 AM): Why?
JeremyJailbreak (2:07:31 AM): An obnoxious question,
JeremyJailbreak (2:07:34 AM): but why?
JeremyJailbreak (2:07:41 AM): I don't mean to downplay your thoughts
Durandal42x (2:07:43 AM): Why what?
JeremyJailbreak (2:07:51 AM): But why dwell in an illusionary universe
JeremyJailbreak (2:07:55 AM): other than this one itself
Durandal42x (2:08:01 AM): Because we can improve very little here.
Durandal42x (2:08:13 AM): In our minds we can change everything.
JeremyJailbreak (2:09:03 AM): Everything lies within our minds.
JeremyJailbreak (2:09:09 AM): What's here?
JeremyJailbreak (2:09:14 AM): Lol.
Durandal42x (2:09:16 AM): My mouse doesn't lie within my mind.
JeremyJailbreak (2:09:19 AM): Lets not get into it.
Durandal42x (2:09:25 AM): My moniter does not lie within my mind.
JeremyJailbreak (2:09:27 AM): It does.
Durandal42x (2:09:30 AM): My brain does not lay within my mind.
JeremyJailbreak (2:09:35 AM): The visual perception of it.
Durandal42x (2:09:38 AM): It most certainly lays within somebody elses.
JeremyJailbreak (2:09:38 AM): The sensory reaction.
Durandal42x (2:09:41 AM): But not mine.
Durandal42x (2:09:48 AM): Yes, we PERCIEVE it.
Durandal42x (2:09:51 AM): But did we create it?
Durandal42x (2:09:55 AM): Nope.
JeremyJailbreak (2:09:58 AM): We do.
JeremyJailbreak (2:10:06 AM): All thoughts are created in our minds.
JeremyJailbreak (2:10:13 AM): If I thought I was holding a lizard,
JeremyJailbreak (2:10:17 AM): as opposed to a mouse
Durandal42x (2:10:19 AM): I did not create my penis.
Durandal42x (2:10:21 AM): Or my retinas.
JeremyJailbreak (2:10:24 AM): I would be holding a lizard.
JeremyJailbreak (2:10:29 AM): Look
JeremyJailbreak (2:10:33 AM): I dont want to keep explaining
JeremyJailbreak (2:10:43 AM): You didnt create your penis, your penis is in your perception
JeremyJailbreak (2:10:49 AM): What is your penis without the perception of it
JeremyJailbreak (2:10:55 AM): what is your penis without the concept penis
JeremyJailbreak (2:10:57 AM): God damnit
JeremyJailbreak (2:10:58 AM): It makes sense
JeremyJailbreak (2:11:00 AM): Just agree
Durandal42x (2:11:22 AM): Yes, but where did the concept come from?
JeremyJailbreak (2:11:34 AM): From another persons mind, transferred into yours
Durandal42x (2:11:36 AM): Do you think,
JeremyJailbreak (2:11:39 AM): You took their thought
Durandal42x (2:11:39 AM): As man evolved
JeremyJailbreak (2:11:42 AM): and abided by it
JeremyJailbreak (2:11:53 AM): You soaked some trivial concept
JeremyJailbreak (2:11:57 AM): and made it objective.
Durandal42x (2:12:02 AM): One rather powerful man looked down at his cock and drew a picture in the ground
Durandal42x (2:12:04 AM): Of a penis.
JeremyJailbreak (2:12:04 AM): You took a word from the dictionary
JeremyJailbreak (2:12:06 AM): and gave it meaning
Durandal42x (2:12:07 AM): And told EVERYONE
Durandal42x (2:12:11 AM): To look at it.
Durandal42x (2:12:19 AM): And said "From now on, this is how penises shall look!"
Durandal42x (2:12:23 AM): No, not likely.
JeremyJailbreak (2:12:24 AM): No,
JeremyJailbreak (2:12:27 AM): He said
JeremyJailbreak (2:12:38 AM): "I will call this a penis"
JeremyJailbreak (2:12:46 AM): We all have penises, but the thought of it being a penis is his
JeremyJailbreak (2:12:54 AM): We then all abided by the thought of our penis, being a penis
JeremyJailbreak (2:12:58 AM): And not a man shouting
JeremyJailbreak (2:13:02 AM): "THIS IS HOW A PENIS SHOULD LOOK"
JeremyJailbreak (2:13:08 AM): Because, if your penis doesnt look like that
JeremyJailbreak (2:13:11 AM): it isn't a penis
JeremyJailbreak (2:13:18 AM): It just so happens that our penises, look alike
JeremyJailbreak (2:13:21 AM): because their penises.
JeremyJailbreak (2:13:28 AM): And they are a non-changing concept
JeremyJailbreak (2:13:35 AM): Sooo
JeremyJailbreak (2:13:39 AM): Its in your mind, man
Durandal42x (2:13:54 AM): I think we should stop talking about penises.
Durandal42x (2:13:59 AM): But yeah, I get the idea.
JeremyJailbreak (2:14:09 AM): Coo coo
JeremyJailbreak (2:14:12 AM): Coo coo coooooo
JeremyJailbreak (2:14:13 AM): Cock
JeremyJailbreak (2:14:19 AM): Everything, essentially
Durandal42x (2:14:21 AM): Flaccid phallus.
JeremyJailbreak (2:14:22 AM): revolves around penis.
Durandal42x (2:14:36 AM): But is the dick half hard or half soft?
Durandal42x (2:14:38 AM): LOL.
JeremyJailbreak (2:14:41 AM): The mind can be described in simple terms
JeremyJailbreak (2:14:45 AM): Its half hard.
JeremyJailbreak (2:14:55 AM): Basically --
JeremyJailbreak (2:15:03 AM): This is all in your mind, and its all an illusion
JeremyJailbreak (2:15:06 AM): Sounds very pretentious
JeremyJailbreak (2:15:09 AM): but its true.
JeremyJailbreak (2:15:15 AM): ****, do the math
JeremyJailbreak (2:15:18 AM): Break down the congruence
JeremyJailbreak (2:15:20 AM): lol
JeremyJailbreak (2:15:30 AM): !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
JeremyJailbreak (2:15:30 AM): Penis.
JeremyJailbreak (2:16:09 AM): Do you disagree?
JeremyJailbreak (2:16:13 AM): I think you should disagree
JeremyJailbreak (2:16:15 AM): and then argue.
JeremyJailbreak (2:16:22 AM): So we can have a 2 A.M debate.
Durandal42x (2:16:44 AM): Unfortanately, I do disagree.
JeremyJailbreak (2:16:49 AM): Great
JeremyJailbreak (2:16:54 AM): I pushed it out there for that very reason
JeremyJailbreak (2:18:18 AM): I think you believe that all of this was created
JeremyJailbreak (2:18:20 AM): and we are living
JeremyJailbreak (2:18:23 AM): based off the creations
JeremyJailbreak (2:18:24 AM): ?
Durandal42x (2:18:28 AM): Maybe.
JeremyJailbreak (2:18:37 AM): Okay, that is the case.
Durandal42x (2:18:40 AM): Or maybe the said "creator(s)" is/are long since dead.
JeremyJailbreak (2:18:44 AM): I'm talking about the concepts, and what we abide by.
JeremyJailbreak (2:18:57 AM): The thoughts, the words, all created by the mind.
JeremyJailbreak (2:19:00 AM): By a previous mind.
JeremyJailbreak (2:19:06 AM): Still, in use, by our mind.
JeremyJailbreak (2:19:13 AM): The creations were, lets assume, made by god?
JeremyJailbreak (2:19:19 AM): God put an object, we named it rock.
Durandal42x (2:19:25 AM): God is a stupid term.
JeremyJailbreak (2:19:30 AM): God put an object, we named it light.
Durandal42x (2:19:34 AM): I could call myself a good and it would be the truth.
JeremyJailbreak (2:19:39 AM): You could not.
Durandal42x (2:19:43 AM): I could call a 5 year old a god and it would be the truth.
Durandal42x (2:19:51 AM): Some have bigger minds then others, sure
Durandal42x (2:20:06 AM): Either every sentient being is a god,
JeremyJailbreak (2:20:07 AM): You could not.
Durandal42x (2:20:13 AM): Or every sentient being is not a god.
JeremyJailbreak (2:20:13 AM): We're all forms of god, yes.
Durandal42x (2:20:17 AM): There.
Durandal42x (2:20:21 AM): Now let's continue.
JeremyJailbreak (2:20:21 AM): Sentient beings are
JeremyJailbreak (2:20:24 AM): Substrata
JeremyJailbreak (2:20:26 AM): of God.
JeremyJailbreak (2:20:30 AM): God is a concept
JeremyJailbreak (2:20:32 AM): FUNNY ENOUGH
JeremyJailbreak (2:20:38 AM): We can say its
Durandal42x (2:20:38 AM): Yeah, isn't it?
JeremyJailbreak (2:20:43 AM): an ever-flowing energy
JeremyJailbreak (2:20:49 AM): Do you disagree that
JeremyJailbreak (2:20:52 AM): we're energy?
JeremyJailbreak (2:20:55 AM): Pure energy.
Durandal42x (2:20:57 AM): No sir.
Durandal42x (2:21:04 AM): We most definately are.
JeremyJailbreak (2:21:11 AM): Okay, so, that energy, is the form of the whole spectrum
JeremyJailbreak (2:21:16 AM): The higher 'intelligence'
JeremyJailbreak (2:21:18 AM): 'God'
JeremyJailbreak (2:21:21 AM): Its hard to explain
JeremyJailbreak (2:21:25 AM): but im using 'God' for now
JeremyJailbreak (2:21:38 AM): So yeah, you were saying
JeremyJailbreak (2:21:40 AM): what you believe in.
Durandal42x (2:22:06 AM): What I believe in?
JeremyJailbreak (2:22:21 AM): Well, you disagreed with the conceptual illusion argument
JeremyJailbreak (2:22:27 AM): Meaning you had a differing belief.
Durandal42x (2:22:32 AM): Either everything is an illusion,
Durandal42x (2:22:35 AM): Or nothing is an illusion.
Durandal42x (2:22:45 AM): Ultimately, it's irrelevant to what i'm trying to say.
JeremyJailbreak (2:22:56 AM): What are you trying to say?
JeremyJailbreak (2:23:06 AM): That we can't change anything here,
JeremyJailbreak (2:23:12 AM): so we create a new universe?
Durandal42x (2:23:14 AM): We can change SOME things here.
Durandal42x (2:23:18 AM): But not many.
Durandal42x (2:23:28 AM): And we're bound to create universes.
Durandal42x (2:23:31 AM): Our minds wander.
Durandal42x (2:23:35 AM): So why not expand on that?
Durandal42x (2:23:43 AM): Why not make THEIR possibilities better than our own?
Durandal42x (2:24:02 AM): Brb, need to take a piss.
JeremyJailbreak (2:24:05 AM): Okay.
JeremyJailbreak (2:24:53 AM): What is the point in engaging in limitless posibilities
JeremyJailbreak (2:25:05 AM): Conjuring up possibilities within your mind, means
JeremyJailbreak (2:25:33 AM): You are forth adding to the illusion
JeremyJailbreak (2:25:38 AM): With more illusions
JeremyJailbreak (2:25:39 AM): better ones.
JeremyJailbreak (2:25:42 AM): I don't know.
JeremyJailbreak (2:25:44 AM): Im ranting
JeremyJailbreak (2:25:47 AM): And its getting late
Durandal42x (2:26:06 AM): Back
Durandal42x (2:26:17 AM): Well jeremy,
Durandal42x (2:26:23 AM): One last question:
Durandal42x (2:26:28 AM): If everything is an illusion,
Durandal42x (2:26:36 AM): Why shouldn't the illusions be better?
JeremyJailbreak (2:26:40 AM): Our existence isn't
JeremyJailbreak (2:26:52 AM): That makes it all
JeremyJailbreak (2:26:54 AM): And, because
JeremyJailbreak (2:26:55 AM): Its like
Durandal42x (2:26:56 AM): If our existance is not an illusion,
Durandal42x (2:27:01 AM): Then niether is theirs.
JeremyJailbreak (2:27:10 AM): The thought of existence is
JeremyJailbreak (2:27:12 AM): But we DO exist
JeremyJailbreak (2:27:16 AM): Sort of weird.
Durandal42x (2:27:27 AM): I think you're deifying "us" a bit too much.
JeremyJailbreak (2:27:39 AM): How?
Durandal42x (2:28:11 AM): What makes us any better than any universes, or as you should say, illusions, that we create?
Durandal42x (2:28:20 AM): I can think up any old random existance right now.
Durandal42x (2:28:23 AM): I could say
JeremyJailbreak (2:29:15 AM): I wasn't doubting that there is other universes
Durandal42x (2:29:15 AM): "Here is an alternate universe, with people, on another earth, whose sun will never go supernova, who are intelligent and peaceful and have free will, with no evil aliens to get them, no meteors to crash into them... etc etc"
JeremyJailbreak (2:29:25 AM): I was only disagreeing with the thought of creating better ones in your head
JeremyJailbreak (2:29:32 AM): Which is what I interpretted
Durandal42x (2:29:39 AM): Would it be true?
Durandal42x (2:29:44 AM): Would it exist in some plane?
Durandal42x (2:29:47 AM): Of course it would.
JeremyJailbreak (2:29:57 AM): Well, think about your mouse example.
Durandal42x (2:30:03 AM): There's no need to meticulously (I know I spelled that wrong) carve out every little detail.
Durandal42x (2:30:22 AM): Of course,
Durandal42x (2:30:30 AM): With some, my "favorites"
Durandal42x (2:30:32 AM): I will do so.
Durandal42x (2:30:36 AM): I will play god.
Durandal42x (2:30:41 AM): And they will hate me for it, no doubt.
JeremyJailbreak (2:30:53 AM): So,
JeremyJailbreak (2:30:58 AM): you're saying
JeremyJailbreak (2:31:10 AM): That you can have little souls, entities,
JeremyJailbreak (2:31:12 AM): within your mind
JeremyJailbreak (2:31:15 AM): living in your universe
JeremyJailbreak (2:31:20 AM): and that you'll be the God?
Durandal42x (2:31:20 AM): Yessir.
Durandal42x (2:31:29 AM): That's the idea.
Durandal42x (2:31:40 AM): And before you think,
JeremyJailbreak (2:31:43 AM): And that all of this will be real
Durandal42x (2:31:50 AM): I'm being arrogant, or deifying myself
JeremyJailbreak (2:31:50 AM): just as real as this is?
Durandal42x (2:31:56 AM): Any other human being can do the same.
Durandal42x (2:32:34 AM): Therefor i'm not a god amongst men, just a god amongst gods. or a man amongst men, depending on your point of view.
Durandal42x (2:32:39 AM): And no, to US it will not exist.
JeremyJailbreak (2:32:44 AM): Would these people have their own flow of consciousness? No.
Durandal42x (2:32:45 AM): But to its inhabitants, it will.
JeremyJailbreak (2:32:50 AM): They will think and act based on YOUR mind.
Durandal42x (2:32:53 AM): It will be just as real as this illusion in which we live.
Durandal42x (2:33:06 AM): Not true.
Durandal42x (2:33:12 AM): Some of them will, if I want
Durandal42x (2:33:15 AM): But the majority,
JeremyJailbreak (2:33:15 AM): These people, will all be conjured up in your mind
Durandal42x (2:33:19 AM): I would give them free will.
JeremyJailbreak (2:33:20 AM): So none of what they do
JeremyJailbreak (2:33:24 AM): Its spontaneous
JeremyJailbreak (2:33:29 AM): There is no free will
JeremyJailbreak (2:33:34 AM): There is no people at all
JeremyJailbreak (2:33:44 AM): Is spontaneous*
JeremyJailbreak (2:33:51 AM): The reason why this is 'real'
JeremyJailbreak (2:33:54 AM): is because
Durandal42x (2:34:02 AM): Is because I make it real.
JeremyJailbreak (2:34:03 AM): We all have our own flow of consciousness, our own mind
JeremyJailbreak (2:34:08 AM): And within this
JeremyJailbreak (2:34:13 AM): We make things around us, SOMETHING
JeremyJailbreak (2:34:15 AM): We give it meaning
JeremyJailbreak (2:34:24 AM): Not because we exist in someones mind
JeremyJailbreak (2:34:29 AM): That would mean that
JeremyJailbreak (2:34:34 AM): We all exist in a person's mind
JeremyJailbreak (2:34:38 AM): and they think and act FOR us
JeremyJailbreak (2:34:41 AM): No.
JeremyJailbreak (2:34:48 AM): We are a separate entity,
JeremyJailbreak (2:34:53 AM): but we all consist of the same consciousness
JeremyJailbreak (2:34:58 AM): Its all energy
JeremyJailbreak (2:35:04 AM): Theres no greater energy, or lower energy.
JeremyJailbreak (2:35:11 AM): We just individualize oneself
JeremyJailbreak (2:35:17 AM): What I'm trying to say is
Durandal42x (2:35:21 AM): Hold on a second,
Durandal42x (2:35:26 AM): Let me show you something.
Durandal42x (2:36:00 AM): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simulated_Reality
Durandal42x (2:37:01 AM): Basicly, they say
Durandal42x (2:37:19 AM): "Sub simulations would always be less detailed than the one we are currently living in"
Durandal42x (2:37:32 AM): Also, just replace "Computer" with "Brain"
Durandal42x (2:37:49 AM): However, i've found a way around this.
Durandal42x (2:37:52 AM): As I said earlier...
Durandal42x (2:38:11 AM): Durandal42x (2:28:20 AM): I can think up any old random existance right now.
Durandal42x (2:38:20 AM): Therefor, there is a hole in the system.
Durandal42x (2:38:25 AM): A way around it, so to speak.
Durandal42x (2:39:51 AM): Now, if you don't mind, can we end this discussion?
Durandal42x (2:39:53 AM): It's late.
Durandal42x (2:40:03 AM): We can continue it some other time, if you like.
JeremyJailbreak (2:41:25 AM): But, that doesn't make the people real :|
JeremyJailbreak (2:41:28 AM): We'll continue it later
Durandal42x (2:41:34 AM): So what?
Durandal42x (2:41:38 AM): By your same argument
Durandal42x (2:41:42 AM): We aren't real either.
JeremyJailbreak (2:41:49 AM): The existence is.
JeremyJailbreak (2:41:53 AM): We do exist.
Durandal42x (2:41:57 AM): *sigh*
JeremyJailbreak (2:41:58 AM): Or else, this wouldn't be occuring.
Durandal42x (2:42:02 AM): We'll continue this later.
JeremyJailbreak (2:42:10 AM): Does a computer function, without actually being a real computer?
JeremyJailbreak (2:42:14 AM): Okay, later it is.
Durandal42x (2:42:38 AM): Also,
Durandal42x (2:43:01 AM): Would you mind if I posted this on a forum.
Durandal42x (2:43:20 AM): There are a few extremely smart people there whom i'd like hear the opinions of.
JeremyJailbreak (2:43:32 AM): Sure lol.
JeremyJailbreak (2:43:38 AM): If they bash my opinion

JeremyJailbreak (2:43:40 AM): Let me know
Durandal42x (2:43:40 AM): They'll probably complain about all the penises.

.. Sorry about all the penises, guys. Just replace it with something else, like hair, or elbows.

Re: Simulated reality and all that fun stuff.
tl;dr

And the discussion of the construction of one's John Thomas is never completely irrelevant.

Boystrous 19 year old temp at work slapped me in the face with an envelope and laughed it off as playful. So I shoved him over a desk and laughed it off as playful. It's on camera so I can plead reasonable force.  Temp is now passive.

I perceive, therefore something exists that enables me to do that.

Might as well call it the universe. Whether or not the level of existence that we perceive is simulated or not, it is indeed completely irrelevant as long as there's no way to test the claim.

Many-worlds interpretation of QM is extremely sketchy.

Consciousness doesn't actually have any special power on the physical level.

I tl;dr'ed a bit after the penis discussion... at any rate- it's easy to feel philosophical in the wee hours of the morning and (presumably) sleep-deprived.
