I fixed the demo so it will work and posted it to freespacemods.net.  Just extract it to your FreeSpace2 folder.

Mechanical Engineers build weapons.  Civil Engineers build targets

Thanks for all the support and help you've given. Don't worry I'm still going strong with this. I actually was bedridden for a day and a half with some sort of bug. That's done now so I'm planning to get back to work. Thanks again, especially to Macfie, and sorry for not responding.

Thank you, Macfie, that worked. I played through the demo, and it definitely looks interesting. I have often wished that there were campaigns where the player gets to make big decisions. basnyy, Since you asked for feedback, here are some things that stood out to me:
  • Backgrounds look 100 times better just by adding Starfield.pof.
  • The third mission is very long with no combat and little conversation.
  • I don't know off the top of my head what the usual nameplate font is, but I'm pretty sure it's not the one on the Halcyon.
  • The ending cinematic for the demo was... a cryptic error. The campaign file has references to Missions 7-10 and Mission C1 which are not in the demo.
  • Some debriefings were missing.
  • The player has command over capital ships.
  • There is no music.
  • You said that a star system has a nebula in it. I don't know any astronomy, but this sounds wrong.
  • In Mission 4, the player gets to choose the loadouts of Alpha and Beta wings, but not his own (Striker wing).

Overall not bad (more than I've ever done :D ), considering that it's still in alpha stages. I would definitely like to see this finished.

Starfield.pof comes with the MediaVPs. Just set it as the skybox model in the FRED Background Editor.

I looked throught .vp and discoverded that this mod can also use my HTL Valhalla (it was made for ITHOV ,but since it's just a HTL Raynor ,it should work ,they have exactly the same texturing).
I found this mod uses some outdated stuff.


Just saw this what stuff is outdated? I changed the Raynor for the one in Blueplanet. Also, did anyone have a problem with the choice for changing sides? I wasn't sure whether it was to obvious or not obvious enough.
