Yah, it's by the 158th Banshee Squadron. :D
Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

This one is better, the lasers seem less... cluttered. :)
I think the biggest part is lasers - Some of the guys here do it really cool... but what I suggest is adding a blur to it - a laser burst that's too solid looks wierd...

heh, not that good with blur yet, i cant seem to blur one spot without leaving a clear edge at the transition between the part i blurred and the part i didnt, so as a result i usually blur all or none (with the exeption of text on white or black).  People dont seem to like blurred pictures however, not mentioning anynames *cough* Venom *cough*. :p  so if you know what i can do for that, please, suggest.

I haven't really used whatever program you're using so I wouldn't know - but in Blender you can assign models and such into specific layers which are only affected when the layer is active. Is there something like that in the renderer you use? Otherwise I can't help you :o

If the laser effects are added on top of the render layer in a separate layer you should be able to add a blur... (in post-production)

baaaaaaaaaah :p no harm intended ;)
really, if you want to hide those egges, use shadows, not blur. Put some lights, it will look better, anyway.

Needs a bit more perspective, everything is too plain... But it's better than the first. :)
