i remember when i did my bike job, a brought along some portable speakers for my ipod (which was completely full), and subjected the denizens of that stock room with the harshest black metal i could get ahold of. my first job where i was building computers i almost always had gwar playing on the office stereo. headphones phhht, il quit first.

Happens to me all the time.  Usually accompanied by "What happened to my music?"

It's not uncommon for me to sit down, put the headphones on, get distracted.. not remembering to start the music before getting up again

Yes to all of those things... oddly helps me focus (both the turning on of the music and the turning off)

Sometimes music helps me focus, sometimes not. Really can be either/or.
