Oh my gawd, I'm still alive!

I know Thunder, Black Ace, and some of the rest of the old-school Ross 128 crowd recognize me more or less, though I've sort of faded from the FreeSpace scene.

Anyway, those of you that do recognize me probably also remember the great horror that was struck into the hearts of the rantage victims of Scorched Lore.  (Speaking of, I might have to zip up the old Ross 128 SL articles and post those somewhere...  I digress though.)

School work kind of bogged me down this year, so those of you that were checking Scorched Lore at it's "new" (been there for over a year now) home with the Shattered Star Confederation might have lost track of goings-on.  Well, the school year is fast coming to an end, and one of the big trips I had planned for early summer has fallen through, meaning that I can start updating again sooner than expected.

Granted, I'm not doing FreeSpace-only content anymore, but we're all gamers, so some general gaming reading material could do us all some good.  ;)

Back to the point, Scorched Lore's weekly updates will start again within the month.  Be there, or be 0\/\/|\|3|).

I check that place every week (great articles and I agree with most of your rants ;)), but I don't think you have update it recently...

It's the Flaming Lips. I like the Flaming Lips. But they have weird album titles (see above), nobody has ever heard of them, and I get a lot of :wtf: when I mention them.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill
