I was playing around with textures on the Titan and came up with these two different variations. After showing them on IRC, getting some valuable feedback, The_E thought it would be a good idea to post these here.

This is the, admittedly, less impressive reskin using a poorly-done greyed out capital01-01 textures as the main one (would be better with a ctile4 (the grey capital01-02 texture on the Aeolus) version of capital01-01)

Now, for the second:


This is the second and more considered the better version. Made using ctile4 as the base with a greyer version and tsouptile05 (the tan-yellow Orion texture used on the Colossus) to support and add contrast. Stripe was made using capital01-02.

All textures needed for these have been provided so you don't have to go digging around to find them. If anything is missing, just point it out an I'll fix it.

Note: The turrets appear to be absent because at the time of the screen-capture, I didn't have the turret's textures.

As I said on IRC, main issue with it is that the normals of ctile4 and tsouptile05 are too strong and break the overall fluid design. Otherwise good reskin.

Thanks to Darius for suggesting changing the tan texture to something else.

If you like it better than the revision with the tan texture, just go into the .pof, rename the tsouptile05 texture to halcapital01-022 and save over the old.

I see 4 or 5 versions of the same texture in different colors + recolored capital01-03 from Majestic and standard [??] capital01-01 as a main textures - it's very... simple. Majcapital01-03 looks bad on Titan because it has wrong rotation. Whole retexture looks good, but it's nothing special. Better than BP skin.

It's actually only 3 of the same on the second (barring tsouptile05, which I'd have reuploaded a version without it but I'm busy) and on the first there's only two versions of capital01-01.

And I can't help the rotation, and actually, I think it looks cool rotated how it is.

And I'd use different textures, but sadly the Orion textures I used on these are some of the only decent Terran textures available. All the FreeSpace 2 capital-ship textures are just rectangles repeated over and over with no real detail.

I don't think that's necessarily good, the GTVA routinely just swaps out all its texture **** anyway.
