I moved over to tracfone during summer in my continued acts of defiance against my parents. The idea was that i can pay for my own phone when i want one and that i am rejecting the one they gave me and pay for and that i didn't ask for.
I went with tracfone instead of net10 because a lot of tracfones are coming with double minutes for life (life being service days) for no added cost to the phone. Which makes tracfone minutes cheaper than net10's the higher the minute cards you buy ($80 for 450min card that doubles to 900 on my phone). Net10 is always 10 cents a minute, so 1000 minutes for $100, and $80 for 900 beats net10.
Since october, net10 redid their sales. 900 minutes for $60, 600 minutes for $45. I'm not mentioning the monthly plans because i like service days and minutes that carry over. I'm real curious if these new totals for minutes are here to stay, or on the way out when the holidays are done. This is a significantly better deal than ever before with a good prepaid cell phone (despite the fact that net10 is owned by tracfone). I'm looking for proof.
