Re: HEF Typhoon and Hurricane V [Archival Release]

Regarding the ships - the HEC Typhoon reminds me somewhat of Turian ships from Mass Effect...

Funny you should mention that considering my design PREDATES Mass Effect ;). Or at least I made it before I even heard of Mass Effect. And I've only played Mass Effect this year.

And alright, gotcha, nvdxt!
I have created a masterpiece.

Take some screens of the Hurricane V (3,4xx km long for now). But, the model itself is not usable.

A 1/10th scale model of the Hurricane V!
With working turrets, drive systems, and subsystems!
Make everyone around you envious!

To be frank, the hurricane model predates the implementation of normal maps into FS2 and it did have a specmap at one time, but all THAT was is desaturating the color map and adjusting levels. Therefore anyone with an image editing program should be able to produce their own spec map with minimal trouble. I DID say these models are old. 2007-2008 range. Back then I wasn't too good of a texture artist. However my current skills far exceed my previous skills. I have learned things that put everything old I made to shame  :p.

Sweet Droid! Well maybe hehe, a 1/10 scale isn't exactly to the size I imagined but I don't mind  :).

Re: HEF Typhoon and Hurricane V [Archival Release]
Should be pretty easy to go into PCS2, scale everything up by 10 via transform, and move every value one decimal place to get back to the 6-km version :P

Re: HEF Typhoon and Hurricane V [Archival Release]
Droid, can you make a version in the original size?
PCS2 rescaling will most likely break the model (it did so really often).
600m is too small for this ship.

Re: HEF Typhoon and Hurricane V [Archival Release]
Can you be more precise concerning the breaking thing when rescaling under PCS2 ? It works like a charm (or I didn't notice already).

The old PCS2 resize breaks the model
I don't think the new one does.

But no, I'm not gonna redo all the POF data for the original size, you can import the data from the small one and shift all the decimal places by one yourself :P

The transform function, not exporting to COB and back.

Try the one from Spicious' signature. If you will be still unable to do rescaling, I can do it tomorrow.

Ohhhh sweet  :D. My old stuff pales so badly in comparison to Esarai haha. I should pick up the darned pace and finish my remakes!

Re: HEF Typhoon and Hurricane V [Archival Release]
I went against my word and made a 6km version...
It really was as easy as I said it was.

EDIT: It would be appreciated if someone could mirror these on FSMods so I can free space on my dropbox (it has a 2.5 GB limit)

Re: HEF Typhoon and Hurricane V [Archival Release]
I'll give it a try but if FSMods keeps the 'Access Denied' up I won't be able to do it whether I liked it or not.
I have created a masterpiece.

Re: HEF Typhoon and Hurricane V [Archival Release]
I'll upload them. The 600 m version is already there, but I'll take it down, and add the 6km and 600m versions in a single package:D

LE: They have been added to FSM. You can clear your DropBox
