Old Man's War - Worth Reading?
Hello, HLP! :)

Something that's come up in the very fun Beware of Humans thread:

http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=85678.0

More specifically, talk on this begins here:

So some of you have read this book, and maybe more who haven't commented. I'm intrigued.

Would you be so kind as to share some opinions on it please, if you enjoyed the book, and what makes it a good book? Or if you didn't like it, why? I'm in need of something to read. Maybe this will be good?

Re: Old Man's War - Worth Reading?
Old Man's War starts off as a riff on Heinleinian ideas about military and duty, and then goes on to stranger territories. It's very well written, has a good sense of humour, and doesn't have as many utterly screwed up parts as Starship Troopers had.

It has two sequels, Ghost Brigade and The Last Colony, both of which develop the universe in new and interesting ways.

I've nearly finished it and have enjoyed it very much. I have ordered the two sequels.

But there are three sequels now:

And there will eventually be four.
