So, evidence points toward north korea not having anything to do with the hacking of sony with the fbi having nothing more than a report that alludes to evidence (oh that's just so ****ing great, a report that has nothing but assumptions attempting to be treated as fact). It's not even a patriotic thing to watch this movie like obama would like to have americans think. I just watched it because I wanted to see it. I even watched it legally streaming to my computer. I do after all believe in streaming movies that are currently in theater non-illegally. Oh no, entertainment companies are going to make more money by expanding their offerings to different platforms simultaneously.

It's not a bad movie, however, parts of it are just a little too contrived. Well, all of it's contrived which isn't really a problem aside from the last third of the movie where everything falls into place just too conveniently. It was funny and entertaining. I can see why north korea doesn't care for the movie, and that's about as far as it goes, they don't care for the movie, and that's it.

Watch on google play if your simple like me. Of course, it's the same streamed copy on youtube (480p). But, google play gives you more leeway. Watching it on youtube does not allow you to use a streaming video downloader, but google play does. I actually bought the movie; i do intend to possess it (i don't pay purchase prices for leasing, otherwise i would have paid the rental price). Now to strip the drm.

Every pilot's goal is to rise up in the ranks and go beyond their purpose to a place of command on a very big ship. Like the colossus; to baseball bat everyone.

I consider it pretty likely it was north korea, for the simple fact who else would care enough to do something like that.  Regardless, I don't give the movie any more thought because of the whole deal.  I still don't really have much desire to see it, because it looks really stupid to me.  Maybe if it's free, as I'll be extremely bored for the next few days with nothing to do around my family.
I like to stare at the sun.

I just finished watching it myself and figured I would throw in my $.02:
First, before watching, understand what you're getting into: Its a Seth Rogen movie. Expect it to be raunchy and full of sexual innuendo. Also because of the second point, this is definitely not a family movie.

Overall, it wasn't a bad movie. It had its funny moments and its "they could have edited that out" moments.
I don't want to say much more as to give away the plot though :P

I would give it a 6.5/10.

Someone who had one hell of an interest in burning sony, past employee, current employee. It really appears to be more of an inside job than north korea.

The reporting that someone didn't like the movie happened well after the initial hack. The hacker "threats" were hillarious because of being poorly scripted for suspense, and written by somebody who tried to seem like somebody who didn't speak english all that well (use of conjugations was a give away). The fbi investigation is a ****ing joke doing nothing more than alluding to evidence, hell, alluding to everything, the investigation was nothing more than assumptions on every aspect of the hack (another joke). Again, north korea doesn't like this movie, i don't really think they care about it at all aside from just not liking it enough to want to do anything.

So, now a lot of people in america think they are doing something patriotic watching this movie, and that a foreign country was trying to dictate american values. The whole it was north korea just deals with everyone's suspicion and feelings that they did it, and not facts.

What is real is that america is attacked and blocked north korean internet, after finally having that excuse they were looking for. I saw the movie because I had wanted to see it well before the hack trailers had been out for a while.

That's probably just the work of some random hacking group as well. North Korea's public-facing internet is almost non-existent, so there's not much to attack. What does the US gain from DDoSing them?

As for the movie itself... I thought it was funny. Certainly not worth all the controversy (and indeed, there basically was no controversy until Sony got hacked).

I'm in the camp it was North Korea 100%. China's statement even confirmed it en passing. Regarding their "denial", well doh.

Regarding the DDoSing them it's bloody efficient and just an awesome attack, whoever did it. You might say "well but they don't have the internet so who cares?" But that's why it's so ****ing good. First, it doesn't reflect on the citizens, because rightly they don't have it anyway, so they are not suffering from the lack of it. If they had internet, that would be a terrible measure, for it would turn their citizens blind against their goverment and pissed against westerners. No such hazzard. Right now, the only people who in NK have access are the really well off, friends of the government and hackers. Not many, perhaps a few thousand. And that means it's basically a "luxury item" that someone *wink wink* has denied them. And that reflects poorly on Kim's real constituency, not the people, but his high rank supporters.

Thus it's mostly a real nuisance for the weirdo psychopaths at the top of the chain, and who knows, if they can keep it closed down, they might even kill little Kim because they can't access youporn anymore.

Meh, I passed on The Interview. Attacking North Korea in media is like kicking a half-dead predator that can growl, but can't even budge an inch. Still pretty humorous the leak lead Sony to initially refusing to release the film.

The entire leak is a spectacular farce showing that no matter how big the company, lax security and human laziness win out. And boy, was Sony a wuss until popular sentiment told them to stop cowering over it.
Blame Blue Planet for my Freespace2 addiction.

You are right. There's no telling who ddos'd north korea. My suspicion says my government, but for what. Rogue hacker groups have yet to have a purpose revealed in all of this too for why they did so, or just for the lulz.

I think I gave a good explanation of why. I even think the US government wanted to do this for a long time but hadn't the excuse for it.

WW3 starting on the over the premise of a movie. Stupid as ****. Well, i bet it was america; since my country is "punishing" them with sanctions. This is all to engineered of blaming another nation.
