One thing that could be done on FS2, though I'm not certain how easy it would be, is Smart Targetting (i.e., the guns have a certain amount of 'tracking' on them)? I'm pretty sure it would take some major coding though

In future I suggest you make any code suggestions in the source code forum. Im may be the only coder that reads this thread and Im too busy to pick up random jobs.

Fair enough about the posts, to be honest, I got confused about which forum I was in, I'd had trouble with the Poll on the Source Code page, and must have clicked back onto this one
As for the too easy bit, well, it depends on what you are shooting at, and how many weapons can actually do it

You are, and have been on the tester list for a while.

Im not sure anyone uses it but me at the moment.
But if we can just crack off a directX release in the next month you will be getting something to do.

Basically the tester list will make or break the DX8 upgrade.
All the DX8 coders are using Geforce cards.
However a test exe I released to someone confirmed my fears.
His non geforce card had problems, and so will a lot of others I gather.

Just for the record this is a fairly standard problem for games developement on the PC, theres so many different combinations of specs. Make you wonder why anyone bothers really.

Anyway so if you guys help us through this then it will be DX8 for all, otherwise GF users only. We cant fix bugs we cant recreate on our system unless we have testers like you.

We are slowly finishing off the DX8 stuff, a few people have been given stuff to do already but for most people they will have to wait for an offical release.
