Of course, now CPUs are fast enough that MP3 or OGG are even better solutions.

Microbit stream techniques are still better than compress formats though.  Just take a look at Homeworld for an example of that.  You can run the game on a bare minimum spec system and though the game may play jerky, the sound still comes out quite smooth.

Sure the files might take as much as a (PCM) wave file, but the output quality is good and at a much lower cpu work load than MP3 and/or OGG.

Size isn't everything... at least not file size :)

Huh? Is a microbit even smaller than a bit? WTF are you talking about?

But yea, all them popgroups like Blink are sickening, i hardly listen to the radio anymore (except the local station, they're obsessed about the 80's & that's GOOD)

Get DAB radio - Planet Rock is brilliant. You get everything from Led Zep, to Eric Clapton, to Iron Maiden, to Queen, to Black Sabbath. Rock. And. Roll!!! You can get it on the internet as well: http://www.planetrock.co.uk

We have a contest here in Belgium going on called POPidol, guess who just made the finals... yep, a headbanging Rocker :) All them weasely poppy losers are gone... GONE I TELL YOU! Muhahahaha

Lucky you! We got Gareth f***ing Gates and Will Young from that. NOT pretty, I can tell you. I want to kill Simon Cowell and Pete Waterman very slowly, using nothing more than a teaspoon and a bottle of vinegar
Any fool can pull a trigger...

Anyone know where I can download a copy of the X-com tune? I've been meaning to get a copy but I've only ever seen it in midi format (and a not very good conversion at that).

X-Com was the scariest game ever, but I never paid much attention to the music. Was way too busy being scared out of my mind by the Chryssalid I just heard walking nearby, but can't see because it's pitch-black and I didn't bring enough flares :shaking:
