Starship Components
Some of you may remember my last WIP thread, with the Dignity Class Destroyer (those who can't remember can check it out here). Well, a while ago I decided to start to remodel that thing, adding more detail to the smaller "greeble" parts that are spread all over its surface and then moving to the larger parts, so I started to model the individual components. Here's what I have so far (you can identify most of them on the surface of the current model):

Field Detector:


Field Manipulator - Small:


Field Manipulator - Medium:

Dish:


Antenna:


Exhaust:



Comments, ideas and suggestions for the next parts to be modeled are welcome. :)

those are great, and some can very well be used for other purposes as well, including some personel useable stuff.

but the exhaust is very, very good.

jokes aside, it's amazing, really :) such attention to details is what differenciates an excellent model from a good one.
That aside, I hope you have Lods for it ;) ( coz long distance renders with all that will induce ubber long rendering times for no real visual gain. But for a "Awing rushing through the SSD turbolasers" scene, it's a total winner :) ).

The large field manipulators will be built directly into the structure of the ship, so I won't make them as a component. And yes, I plan to make LODs for every component, probably more than one too.

Not bad. Convenient, too- I've had a whole stock of standard components for all my ships for several months, and it's saved hours worth of work...
