That map is actually the official map for FS1.  (If it were for FS2, it would have a different style of graphics.)  It seems the jump node map shifted around quite a bit during the development of the game.

Goto the Mission Playing Judas... you'll see the GTD Galatea going from BA to Sol, then up to Deneb. It was because of going that way that the Galatea was destroyed by the Lucifer... histroy just screwed itself up :wtf:

In the fs1 end cutscene, it says that all nodes to Sol were destroyed. Maybe a "subspace shockwave" destroyed the node to Beta Aquilae.

But what about the jump node from Sirius to DA that the Bastion took to intercept the Lucifer.

Hmm...maybe we should just screw the V map and make our own "canon" one.:)

Or better, let FSURP do it.;)

EDIT: Goober, I should know this, but what systems connect to Talania? I thought there was only one, because it distabilized before fs1 (FSURP). I've forgotten everything I knew about that part of the TVWar.

Also, Raa Tor'h, Beta Aquilae goes to Antares, not Beta Cygni.

I downloaded this map somewhere from HLP, I think this is of IceFire, or somebody of the 'big brains'

Otherwise, I use the original node map(Goober500's image) to make the progress of my campaign, but is that a matter if I ignore unofficial systems? I want Altair IV to have a jump node not only to Aldebaran, to somewhere else. Is that a matter? That system is not Tau Sigma, and it still has no other nodes discovered that might lead the man to 'outerer' systems.

I'm making my own, and I'm pretty much adding as many systems as will fit.

The reason I'm making my own map is because I have a bulletin board in my room that would be perfect for hanging a node map, but it is taller than it is wide, so I'm having to put the systems in new places, but I don't think it matters as long as all the jump nodes are correct.

BTW - That map is by Icefire (bottom, left-hand corner:D )

You can pretty much make systems as you see fit. I don't think anyone will complain if you invent a couple of new systems.

And if anyone complains that you've got a different system connected Altair from Icefire I'll help pull the flush while you stick their head down the toilet.  ;7 The unofficial systems are exactly that. Unofficial. If you want to have the same universe as Icefire I'm sure he won't mind. If you don't, there is no reason you should have to.

I like Icefire's map and usually use it also, because it has the most new systems, and the more the better in my opinion.:)

I'm of course adding two or three new systems of my own.:p I'll share after I'm done.

I am a kind of person who always belives to the official stuff. So if I would want to make another campaign(ohh ... how far it is!), I would use the original Volition map, that's certain.

I like official stuff too, but I'd like more star systems than are on that map. So...if I want to make a campaign with official stuff only, then I use only canon systems.;)

The map I use, it's got all the canon systems, plus a butt-load of new ones. Many are taken from Icefire's map (I want somebody else to have some of the stuff I do).
The resizing thing in PSP8 didn't do too well.

It's upright like that because it was meant to fit my bulletin board in my room (I have a 20*30 inch version)

That's not a bad map, the fact is there ... which system has node leading to another system, their location is particularly mind.

My personal favorite is this one by IceFire

For my campaign "GTI: Untold Sorties" I need to add in a few extra nodes connecting Altair and Aldebarran to Alphard and Dubbe at the left end of the map.

Later!

IceFire's version is good if you want to follow an existing storyline, because many of new systems are on like, like Tau Sigma of Derelict. But if you want to follow FS2, or FS1's original story, the [V] map is more useful, other systems don't disturb you. I was using the original FS map while planning the chain of events for Renegade Ressurgence.
