What is up with you guys lately.

I've been reading these forums every now and then (almost daily now) and this place has been degrading to what the VBB was...AOL if its chatrooms were forums.

The forum topics are going off-topic faster and faster and heading straight into "BLAH BLAH BLAH, I'm mindless" ville. I think the ONLY topic that hasnt gone off the rails or is just spam to begin with in the past few days is the Happy Birthday Sandwich thread or that Homeworld 2 goes Gold. (oh wait...it did start togo OT at the end)

Now, being a former webmaster at an old 3dactionplanet website that gamespy shut down I know this sort of situation can get really bad. That website's forums were mainly shut down because Gamespy began to complain about the state that those forums were in...(hmmm...anyone starting to see any possible connection?) shortly after that the website went kaput too after the site director got tired of it. Even though I'm sure no one around here would do that, I'm SURE no one wants to find out.

Yes, I may be overreacting a little bit, but I felt that this needed to be said. Give Styxx, Shrike, Thunder, and Sandwich a break...lay off the spamming and flaming...do it for the good of HLP. (Note: I think all of this is pointed at this forum right here...)

Please don't. We've had our week of admin-free spamfest, maybe, just maybe, we could now get back to things with topic. Seriously. I´ve even stopped posting in the Madonna thread.

You guys need to learn 2 things:

1) There's a time and a place for everything. Fun threads that can be called spam aren't always bad - but they have their own time and place. Most threads here are supposed to be at least slightly sensible. The spamming, flamming and whatever else that's been going on so much lately has got to stop.

2) This kind of thread is NO GOOD. All this does is inspire more spam, flamming and what have you - I doubt anyone reads this and thinks "hey, he's right". Most probably try and think up witty remarks. We do not need these kind of observations posted as the more of them there are - the less good topics there will be - effectively doing damage to the quality of the forum. Stop posting them.
