Well its Shivannode back again for another try.  I got a new computer and reinstalled FS1 but when my ship isnt turning the stars fade out... does anyone have anysuggestions on this?

indeed, turn anti-aliasing of in your settings, somewhere. i do recollect something about graph card drivers, but don't take my word for it,

There are FS1 reg hacks for such things as well. Karajorma's FAQ is your first port of call in such situations.
