I was afraid this thread would take this angle... Guys please be nice to eachother if not to everyone else in the world - HLP is a community where borders and boundries don't apply... no matter what you feel about real world events, don't take it out on people here.

On that note, I think its time to start cutting back on the political/war related threads. Almost everything to say has been said.. it's getting tiresome.

Alright, now since you closed that thread, why not let me say my piece (i realize closing a thread, thereby cutting off any incoming counter-arguments is so appealing, because it makes it appear you're winning, but it's not cool).  Since politics and war is what's dominating the news nowdays, i say it's perfectly right for us to be discussing it.  In any argument, sure some people are going to be offended, and attacked verbally, but that's all part of having an argument, and it's going to happen. Trying to 'steer' us on what topics to discuss and not to discuss is, i'm sure you'll agree, not what this community's about.  Part of what makes this community so strong is all the discussions we have.  For a retired admin, you sure seem to do a lot of ordering about.  I'll say it again... Politics and War are dominating front page news at the moment, and that's why we talk about it.  You've got no place to say that everything "has been said"... let us be the judge of that, in our multiple discussiong threads on politics/war.  

Don't take offense to this, but i'm just saying my piece, as you've said yours.  i mean no personal offense.

Firstly, you can PM me with personalised questions such as this - and to encourage you to do so I'm locking this thread as well

Secondly HLP is primarily a GAMING website. Not news, current events, war or anything related to it. It's about gaming. No, that doesn't mean I think all other topics should be banned or locked - but it does mean that I don't expect you to be suprised when a topic that grows out of hand gets locked or when you're asked to cut back on the number of related war/real life threads because quite simply - there's no need to have more than one.

On that note - feel free to arrange amongst yourselves one thread on the topic of the conflicts in the East and related backlash - I'll close the others. As it is the forum is saturated and as you saw in the thread that I did lock, people couldn't have a simple arguement without resorting to name calling.

If you're still not satisfied - there's a hundred other websites out there dedicated specifically to discussion of current events, conflicts, war and so on. Feel free to join any one of them and argue away the rest of your life there - but don't saturate HLP with threads about the latest chapter of events... to be honest it's not only irritating to have to sift through them to get to the other topics - it's also depressing to have it shoved in your face when you log into this section of the forum.
