Finally saw this episode - I cannot get over how good a mere Star Trek series is becoming. I hope they can keep it up - after the Xindi they do have the whole temporal cold war to return to.

That battle was very reminiscient of the First Contact battle. Technology nowadays - sheesh!

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

They've still got to deal with the Suliban. But with the new photons, engine mods they picked up in E^2, their mastery of the transporter and the MACO's, they'll probably be able to kick the goddamn crap outta the Suliban now.

I hope we don't see the last of the Xindi in season 3. Their technology is far cooler than any other race's right now (well, perhaps apart from the Tholians). And I think the reptilians have been the best-looking humanoid aliens we've seen in ST.

Well the last time we saw them or shadowy figure dude(tm) was when they told Archer that the Xindi attacked Earth at the end of the second season.

I'm surprised that they didn't show up this season at all, especially since they've had an episode with the Vulcans and Andorians.

They've had multiple episodes with the Andorians.  Maybe it's the blue skin, but Andorians have been my favorite ST race since TOS.

Breen, man. The Breen kick ass.

Everyone was like "Well, they use cloaks and old disruptors. And they've got crappy organic tech in their vessels. Other than that they're just another filler-race".

Then the Breen were all "NYOGCHOPVF-RUKNTCHOM", suddenly they're the most powerful race in the quadrant. They're the Dominion's main ally and have a weapon so tactically and strategically powerful that they could've kicked the Federation's ass singlehandedly.

Enterprise episode: The Council
In Strange Bedfellows right near the end of Season 7 of DS9, the Breen sign up with the Dominion. Turns out the little coolant-suit wearing weirdos have a homeworld that, contrary to popular belief, isn't a frozen wasteland, but is infact quite nice. No-one knows why they wear the coolant suits though, they wouldn't even tell the Dominion.

Anyway, their ships are generally small and ****ty, probably a little less powerful than similar Fed vessels, but they've all got these big energy-dampening weapon things that hit a ship and completely drain all its power. Shields, weapons, engines, warp-core, everything dies. Then they use their ****ty photons to just pound the crippled derelicts into space-dust.

Thanks to the Breen, the Dominion absolutely massacred the Fed-Klingon-Romulan fleet when they retook Chintoka. That was the battle where the original Defiant was destroyed.

And the only reason why the combine fed/rom/klin alliance survived was because of natural selection.

One klingon ship wasn't affected by the energy dampener and survived the battle.  They quickly applied the modifications to the other klingon ships which managed to hold the fort long enough for the rest of the allies to regroup.

It is of note that the Breen energy dampener is the signature weapon of the vor'cha class in Star Trek Armada.

Yeah, I think that was just to give the Klingons a little tactical toy you could play with.
