And The Works is exactly what it sounds like, more like The Kitchen Sink!
Bioware has begun to separate itself from D&D and as such has created some of it's own IP to work from. One of their projects is Jade Empire, an Oriental themed RPG that looks okay.
The project I want to highlight is Bioware's other more hush-hush project Dragon Age. They are hailing as the "spiritual successor" to their other games KOTOR, NWN and BG1,2, and their expansions.
There are various articles around and it has already won several awards from it's late alpha(maybe early beta) demo at E3.
Here's the
Official Page.
4 things stood out at me as I was reading the Vault article.
1. We get full parties again. No more of this half assed henchman crap.
2. Bioware has hired a PHd level linguist to develop languages so there is actual meaning behind it when character uses a different language.
Here's the cool part:
3. All the characters have been/will be MoCaped.
4. Character models will have up to 2,000,000 polies!
All in all Dragon Age looks to shaping up to become the HL2 of the RPG world.
