Just got the game and it's mind blowing...
All those explosions... so many vehicles... so many maps. :)

Except on trying to free enough space to install it (5,5 GB!!).

Incredible. Where on earth does all the space go? Are there FMVs?
- Eddie Kent Woo, Setekh, Steak (of Steaks), AWACS. Seriously, just pick one.
HARD LIGHT PRODUCTIONS, now V3.0. Bringing Modders Together since January 2001.
THE HARD LIGHT ARRAY. Always makes you say wow.

Textures I gather... and over a hundred maps (the maps from UT2K3 are included since it's more or less the same engine).

At least thats what I think is going on! Kinda extreme.. they should've used DVDs.

Yikes... well, for the sake of replayability I suppose. ;) I keep forgetting, too, that everything gets higher-resolution as games get on. It's the same with my new camera - I've had it for less than a week, but I've already taken 4 CDs worth of photos. 5 megapixels per shot, really soaks up the HD space quickly!

There is a double-DVD version, though (1 DVD holds modding tutorials, etc).  Not sure if it's US only, natch.

It comes with absolutely everthing that you would need to mod/map game, including a special version of Maya.
So as through a glass, and darkly
The age long strife I see
Where I fought in many guises,
Many names, but always me.

There are only 10 types of people in the world , those that understand binary and those that don't.

2k3 came with that iirc?

I've only got UT and 2k3, though the latter isn't installed, I actually find I still prefer UT :)

Edit : And since it's easy to convert FS2 ships into UT2k3 meshes, I really ought to get around to doing a Deathmatch arena in an Orions Hanger-bay one day ;)

Hades Combine dedicated server, its US hosting but its better than nothing, now have fun.
Put this in your profile if you know someone who is fighting, has survived, or has died from an awp no scope.

Anyone fancy reviving this? Just got the game delivered today, y'see (3 weeks late...some postie nicked the first copy & I needed it resent).

I'd be willing to set up a non-dedicated invasion server (i.e on me broadband - 256k upstream, so probably can only support 2-3 other players), if anyone wants a regular game or whatnot.  Albeit my Pc does have a habit of overheating :nervous:......

(NB: Uk-based)

You could try software mode ;7

Um...here's another thought - could arrange a tournament of World-Cuppy style 1vs1 deathmatches. Anyone with broadband should be able to host that.....

Nah Ill probably play Rise of Nation online. I love those Nuclear Explosions. One guy I was playing against kept sending troops over while I was busy Nuking them. I think I had about 50 missle silos set up.
