After a long time, I've grown tired of repetitive spam from the same company. It's time to fight back and I'd like the help of anyone who knows about it to help me get one back.... even if it's just preventing the company from spamming me anymore.

The email looks as it does in the following screenshot (with my own email address edited out).

It is comprised of two JPEG images. The top links to (http://www.frspca.com/jkrhrnwi/847f1.gif?460243839_124895)

And the bottom to (http://www.frspca.com/jkrhrnwi/847f2.gif)

I've tried the unsubscribe feature against my better judgement because there seemed to be no other way of preventing them from contacting me (they seem to send from random servers each time - so blocking the individual server is pointless).

If anyone could point out ways to get my own back, via whatever means from stopping the messages to anything else - well - it's all good. Thanks

Right now the only way I can think of involves lots of VX nerve gas.
E-Mails won't help since this kind of company won't even read them.

Do they always send from the same servers(i.e. is there a pattern) or is it a new one every time?

You could just set up a filter in hotmail to block anything not in your address book. Check your junkmail regularly to check for important things and add them to the 'safe list' so they arent filtered.  It takes a bit to set up, buts its simple and effective.

Lynx, I think it's a new one every time - though I can make a list given enough time. These things come in at a rate of about 5 a day.

beatspete, I could - but I'd rather not resort to checking my junk mail as I always worry I might miss something.

GODDANGIT, i have the same damn problem. I get 10-20 emails in my hotmail address (that I have never given to anyone really) every day. Friking annoying as heck. Same for me about the unsubscribe thingys. Unsubscribing just seems to bring me more emails.

One thing, from my experience Hotmail attracts spam mails like flies. You might consider taking a new adress.

I use it primarily as a backup and private address. Is annoying as hell when I am expecting an email from my aunt (or anyone else in my family) and I open my inbox up and all I have is spam...

Get Gmail.
Although, come to think of it, I've had hotmail for a while and I haven't had any problems...I get almost no spam. Certainly not anything that bad. Mainly just ads from MSN, Major League Baseball, and Apple.

Oddly, my hotmail account is devoid of spam.  It seems to me that someone with you in their address book got some sort of virus or agreed to let some spyware company email you 'special offers'.

In short, there is no legal way of circumventing your spam issue.  Make a new one and tell everyone to email you on that one.  I do have a slight spam problem with my ISP email account, on the order of 100+ a day.  So im all ears if someone has a cure-all solution.

If you can trace them to a California company, that's technically illegal in that state...but I doubt they're from California.

Wait it out, I was getting bout a dozen spam emails a day a few months back, now I rarely see one a week. I wouldnt trust the junk mail filters on it though, I've often found legit stuff in there.

Find an e-mail flooder, if there are any left, and flood the **** out of any server that sends you something.

A couple of solutions:

• Get a GMail account, esp. since they now allow POP3 access. You can download your email with a program like Thunderbird and use the brilliant Bayesian filter to filter out spam. It would work on such repetative emails like that like a charm.
  
• Respond with a "bounced email". Basically, send an email to an address that would not exist @{Your Email Domain}.com so that you can get a look at the composition of the "address does not exist" message. Dissect it backwards and forwards, and make sure you know what parts you have to change for it to appear "legit". Next time you get a spam email, pug in the from and to addresses into the "E-mail 404" template, and send it back.

Usually, spammers weed out their mailing lists every so often, perhaps if an email bounces back 3 times or whatever. Might work, might not, depending on the spammer.

It sends one every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day, until the tape is changed.  But now it is getting annoying, as the tape drive is broken....
