i know, who would of though it?? :eek2:  although i did knid of suspect something along those lines would happen. Is this the end cos i sometimes get pop ups saying that the new series is on Sci-fi in America or was that the series that has just ended? has to be second series i want to know wot happens to Starbuck and this arrow!

Is it me or does this version of BSG remind anyone else of Homeworld? or should that be the other way around :)

I hate cliffhangers.

I wanna know:
Spoiler:
Whose kid that was: Baltar's or Sharon's.

And:
Spoiler:
Who the **** is running the fleet now. President's in chains, Baltar has vanished, Lee is in chains, Starbuck's still out-system, Adama's dead.....I guess it'd be Col. Tigh, but that doesn't sit well with me for some reason.

I thought for sure the President woulda been shot at some point during the episode, what with the whole "She won't reach Earth" thing in the prophecy and them being so close to finding it, but I guess the cancer gets her afterall.

i was sorta hoping for a massive space battle, i thougth that a who fleet would jump in and blow the Galactica away, but hey we got to see one explode. as for baltar i didn't get that whole thing at all.

edit i thought that it was only a 13 part series? (thats what the strange women announcer said on Sky one? although she seems to get things screwed up from time to time, eg announcing that ST TNG is about to start and it is actualy Stargate that is on hahaha) but i had read that it was only gonna start of as 13 parts and they'll probably do another depending on the viewing figures i hope they do cause its on of the few Sci-fi shows i like.

The American networks realised it's easier to commission short runs, because then if the show bombs, they don't have to pay for 9 episodes no-one will watch.

Non-commiting pussies.

I was certain she was gonna be like:

"Look over their Gaius..."
*looks and sees huge statue of himself*
"See. That's why we picked you."

But no. As usual it was all cryptic and ****.

And as usual, the Cylons appeared to be helping everyone out while killing ****loads of people.

All I can say is that Sci-Fi better give us a second season, or there'll definitely be some long-overdue murders within their programming executive.

  • What the hell are you lookin at?
*shakes his fist at scifi* "Damn you. Damn you all to hell!"

killing threads is...well, what i do best.

Well, the good news is that there's almost definitely going to be a season 2.

And that's a very good thing, because with BSG sci-fi finally grew up.

That was the LAMEST....

Wait.... wait a minute...
BOOBIES!!!!   :D

THAT WAS GREATEST SEASON ONE ENTRANCE OF ALL SCIFI!!!!

I'm already rallying my fellow yanks to start watching this diamond in the rough of faltering scifi programming. A SECOND SEASON IS A MUST. How can I get a Nielson box in my home?

I've already started some flame wars in a BSG purist forum. I just don't understand how those people could hold on to that dead horse  when this phoenix have already risen from its ashes. I swear their loyalty to that show is not what caught Sci-fi's attention, its Ron Moore's writing and spin on the IDEA of BSG.

SO WHAT, IF:
1. Starbuck and Boomer are now females, (they're cute)
2. Theres no Athena (though she is a 70's cutie)
3. Everyone is no longer dressed like D&D cultists
4. There are no "..frickin laser beams.."

GET OVER IT!!! EVEN YOUR BOY, HATCH HAS COME TO HIS SENSES AND SEES THE SHOW FOR ITS GREATNESS. STOP DISUADING PEOPLE FROM WATCHING INTELLIGENT GROWN UP SCIFI!!!!

As far as Scifi TV goes, this is the best thing since Farscape in terms of writing. Don't get me wrong, Stargate was good fun, but its run its course and is now waivering. They can infuse the cast with Farscape members, but they better get their writing up to the BSG standard of excellence. Atlantis's first season put me to sleep and is nothing more than a rehash of SG1 formulas, except with added annoying characters.

BSG IS THE FUTURE OF WELL THOUGHT OUT SCI-FI. Less techno-babble, less over the top scenarios, LESS CAMPY. Its about time someone brought back the seriousness and relatability the Twilight Zone introduced.

Now can a official BSG mod begin already. I'm nearly done with my Viper model:

Where'd you get that information?
marcet sine adversario virtus.

I've already seen the UK's growing BSG fan base and they absolutely love it for the most part. There are still a couple of bad seeds desperately clinging to the original but they are the MINORITY. It all depends now on us Yanks to show the ratings that will decide its continuation.

It already killed Stargate last friday, giving SCI-Fi channel double record breaking ratings. The old dog Hatch (original Apollo) appeared last Friday, perhaps thats part of the equation. Personally I think he play's an effective terrorist. I guess having his charisma and emotive presence stem's from his scary leading of some cult back in the 80's. :D

I have a feeling that with the current ratings, the US may actually be receptive to intelligent, serious, & dark tv programming. I started to lose hope with the populous because of their fanaticism with reality garbage TV.

Vicariously, many peope mind numbingly experience unrealistic scenarios such as:

Eating worms and slugs for prize money...
Competing to become an American Idiot...er, em.. Idol super star..
Deciding which 1 of 20+ sluts to get hitched with ...
Playing with the psyche of a sinlge hetero surrounded by homos..

MEANINGLESS ESCAPISM, need I go on? Mindless, life-less, masses of GOO. Flesh GOO.

BSG hits home with its references to real world issues from terrorism, religious fanaticism, political complexities, and trauma induced solidarity.

If this show goes south, not only will we let down are UK friends and loose our last European connection, it will reveal how pathetic US taste has become. Well, at least with the sci-fi fans.

I still have hope!!!!

My fellow Americans...... WATCH THE **CKIN SHOW and get some some of those rusty brain cells excercised/exorcized. My God, it may actually provoke some meaningful THOUGHT!!!!

ps: You can probably tell I kinda like the show.

Me and my younger brother loves the new series but i'll always leave a place in my heart for the 70's Version.

I'm not bashing the original (well, not completely).

I'm catching up right now with the original. I was born 1979 and was completely oblivious to the original as a child. I recall going to Universal Studios with my family and the tour tram entered what I thought at the time, was a Star Wars section which was actually BSG. It bugged me for awhile that I never saw a single chromed storm trooper with red eyes in star wars.

Now that I'm introducing to myself the original, I'm having trouble filtering out the wardrobe, music, and campy acting. I'm focusing on the story. Its funny, like todays Baltar, the original Baltar amuses me also, but in a different way. I didn't expect aliens or that cylons were made by reptiles. So far I'm up to the episode with the Battlestar Pegasas. Excellent story. I hope they base a new episode on that premise.
