Yeah, it came on two or three floppies. I might actually have it somewhere.

You can download MW1 free AFIAK off Sarna.net; the copyrights on it ran out two or three years ago.

I miss all the realism and unlimited customizablity in Mech3. :( I used to have a super-Vulture that was loaded with lasers, LRMs, super speed, and jump jets.
Now when I try and do the vulture in MW4, I get laced every single game, because I can't fit the damn thing with any of the good weapons.

The MW4 Vulture is only good as a missile boat. 10 LRM 10s.

actually the mechlab was the only thing in mech4 that i DID like, it was most true to battletech out of any of them.  if you actually customized a mech by the rules.
You can't take the sky from me.  Can't take that from me.

The options in (PS) MW2 were limited.

Good for long fights.

My personal favorites:

Thor: Ultra AC - 20 + 2 PPCs + 1 LRM 15 You can play long range, harras him with rockets and close in for a fast kill if things get personal. Normal armor, jumpjets and targ. comp.

Assault Madcat: 2 PPCs + 2 LRM 15/20 OR 4-6 MedPulselasers.
Lasers are for long battles against wave after wave of enemies with no time or option to reload at MFB. The pulselasers carry quite a punch and though they are harder to use, their continous fire means you can use them will the PPCs recharge and end up continously damaging the enemy.

**** that.

In MW 4, i would load out my raven with 6 pulse lasers, max out my speed, swich to passive radar and harass dashi's.  The raven is so small and fast the big mechs have a hard ass time figuring out what to do.  I would team up with a random stranger in like a couger, and  wed regualrly take down Dashis by blowing out the legs.  Fun as hell.
