i'm pulling out of a gas station, going about 5 mph heading toward the street (going through the parking lot) and suddenly the car just scrapes to a stop.  at first i thought someone hit me, then i thought i'd gone into a hole.  i got out, looked at the back of the car... the back left side is as high as my chest.  i walk around to the front right:  it's sitting on the ground

if you can't see... the wheel is resting between the ground and the wheel well (plastic).  i didn't take a picture, but behind the wheel the lower A-Arm (suspension) is on the ground.  i'd lost my front right bearing :(

now towing a car like this is tricky, because you have to pull it onto the flatbed tow truck from the back, but with a car this long (18 feet, 8 inches) if you raise the already high back-end up, the front bumper (all chrome) will scrape.  and there's nothing worse than scraped chrome :(

anyway, since it no longer has the bearing, as soon as the car began to be pulled back onto the tow truck's bed, the wheel turned half around, and i almost s**t a brick.

so yeah.  there goes tomorrow morning.  a good 2 hours and $50 or so gone, that is if the lower control arm isn't damaged too :sigh:

now i'm just glad this didn't happen on the highway, because i would've been in deep trouble if this had happened at 85 miles per hour :-/

Looks like you'll be in for a new tire too; being compressed against the well like that doesn't look to have been too good for it.  Tough luck dude.

that's too bad man... didn't your car get banged up in an accident a few months ago? that's just unlucky...
Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

you mean when i got driven off the road, and i swerved across an 8 lane, two way highway?  yeah.  that too :p  in fact, since it was the front right tire that slammed against the curb (when i got in the 'accident'), i think that may have been one of the reasons behind what happened today :-/

it's been througha  lot :-/

Mexicans pay alot to have their caddy's dropped like that. ;)

Sorry to see it. I saw that happen to a brand new mercedes once, but the entire axel actually broke loose and was about 30 feet from the car. Was an old lady driving it...

That was f'ing hilarious, btw.  Unfortunate for you I know, but the fact that you went from angry as hell to making a flash of it is pretty damned funny.

I suspected as much. :p It looks like it was slammed. :p  Now see if you can photoshop it so the front end is 3 feet in the air, and show em' again. ;)

Man, that sucks. My English teacher drove his Jag over a drive shaft from a UPS truck on the highway, and now he has to drive a Focus until it's repaired.

hehe yeah well i was still mad as hell, just not quite, cause i'd seen a movie, and calmed down a little, and the best way to explain it to people was to just spend 10 minutes and make a little animation, instead of explaining to two dozen people and having them ask questions.  same goes for the officer that came to our house when i reported it :D
